@github-actions github-actions released this 13 Oct 08:57

What's new

  • On-screen keyboard. When a game asks for text, such as a name, the Xbox's on-screen keyboard opens. Done gives the text to the game, B cancels.
  • Trophies in the game menu. View + Menu → Trophies shows the running game's trophies. Settings › Developer › Reset all trophies removes the trophies earned in all games, after asking.
  • Refresh rate. Settings › Display offers 30, 60 or 120 Hz. At 120 Hz, games with a 120 Hz mode can run at up to 120 frames per second, with the TV at 120 Hz and V-Sync off.
  • Skip intro logos. Settings › System: games that support it skip their logo videos.
  • The game's start screen. While a game starts, its own start screen shows, as on the PS5.
  • Clearer settings. New categories: Display, Overlay, Controller, System, Storage, Memory and quality, Developer.
  • Overlay. The resolutions are now called Internal, Scaled and Display.
  • Fixes. A crash in ATRAC9 audio decoding. Newer KytyPS5 code with its fixes, including streamed music that sounded distorted.

What's new

  • Overlay settings in the game menu. View + Menu → Settings changes the overlay during a game, at once: Off, Frame rate, Compact or Full; the log on screen (Off or 2 to 20 lines); the controllers on screen; its size. The Settings page has the same options under Display.
  • Trophy notifications. A trophy a game unlocks shows as an Xbox notification. Select it to see the trophy's details: over the game while one runs, otherwise on the Trophies page.

KytyPS5 for Xbox 1.1.26284.1505

Pre-release

An experimental build of KytyPS5 for the Xbox Series X|S in Developer Mode, from xbox-on-upstream-2026-10-11-16a7fe68 at 649f7aa. What it changes and what does not work yet: XBOX_CHANGES.md.

It needs a Series X or S. The Xbox One can't run it: the app needs AVX2.

Install

  1. Unzip KytyPS5-Xbox-1.1.26284.1505.zip on a PC.
  2. Open the Xbox Device Portal (the address Dev Home shows) and choose Add.
  3. Pick the .msix, add both files from Dependencies, and start the install.
  4. In Dev Home, set the app's type to Game for the larger memory budget.
  5. Put your games on a USB drive: Setting up your games folder.

Each build installs over the previous one and keeps the app's data. The package is signed with src/uwp/KytyPS5-signing.pfx, a test key that is public on purpose.
