Date sorting grown up:

• The date sort is now two modes: Newest (newest first - the common expectation) and Oldest. Folders that had date sort stored show newest first after the update; press the sort button once if you prefer oldest first.
• Date-sorted folders load in a single call when the folder lies inside a Kodi media source (worth setting up for big collections) - even thousands of files list in about a second. Outside sources a parallel fallback is used.
• A busy spinner shows while a folder is read, so slow network shares no longer look like the OK press got lost.

Install over the existing version - settings and custom orders are kept.

Folder Player 1.1.1

Fixes .wav playback on installations with game add-ons: untyped items are classified by file extension, and some libretro cores register .wav (C64 tape images), so RetroPlayer claimed the file and errored. Played items are now explicitly tagged as music or video.

Folder Player 1.1.0

The queue limit (max titles per recursive queue) is now a setting: 2000 (default) up to 50000 titles. Useful for playing a whole drive or a very large folder tree in one go — long-press the first folder and choose 'Play from here'. Higher limits mean a longer wait while the queue is built at play start (the folder tree is scanned on the fly).

Thanks to the first forum feedback for prompting this.

Install: download the zip below, then in Kodi: Settings > System > Add-ons > Unknown sources on, Add-ons > Install from zip file. Updating over an existing install keeps settings and custom orders.
