It would be incredibly useful to be able to initiate multiple counterparty actions in one transaction. Imagine a checklist of 'issue token', 'add description', 'lock issuance', 'lock description', 'issue dividend', 'mpma send', 'destroy token' all in one bitcoin transaction. The list could go on!
...Like a grocery list of actions on one address all conducted in one single bitcoin transaction.
The more the protocol can initiate multiple actions that cost less bitcoin or xcp over time, the more useful they will be and more attractive to users in my opinion.
This main theory is seen in many ideas already proposed:
@adamkrellenstein is CounterpartyXCP/counterparty-core#2197
Can you explain a little more about this theory with 'Multi-transaction Packing' published here?
Though on a different protocol, Jdog mentioned batch transactions on his BTNS protocol:
https://github.com/jdogresorg/Broadcast-Token-Naming-System/blob/master/docs/actions/BATCH.md
I'm open to any type of style this could be done and see it benefiting the community not just in costs but in time (btc tx's take a while to confirm).
Decreasing the need for multiple btc transactions is the main point here.
Which protocol functions can be 'packed' into one tx?
Are there some that cannot?... like Sweep for instance (which would cause some edge case issues I could imagine)?
