The compliance documentation describes what erased [PII] values release as for each schema type: empty strings, 0 or false for non-nullable numbers and booleans, and null for nullable values. See Erasing a subject. (part of #4620)
The key lifecycle documentation explains how stored-event migration and event revision release protected values strictly. Operational failures abort the write. Migration stores erased values for an erased subject, while a revision still needs an authorized new key. A data key that cannot be unwrapped for a subject with a recorded erasure is treated as erased. See Key lifecycle. (part of #4619)
