Release v4.72.0
Summary
expand-layout now writes the import-based layout the authoring guidance recommends, including one file per slice.
Changed
expand-layoutwrites import barrels instead of repeating module and feature headers in every file:application.playimports module files; withlayout: "feature"or"slice"a module file imports its feature files, which import nested features and, for"slice", one file per slice holding only that slice, whilelayout: "module"keeps features and slices inline in the module file. Parameters and destination paths are unchanged, and authored order, comments and identities are preserved. (#434)- Compiling from a single root file now merges imported files depth-first in import order, where it was breadth-first before. Wildcard matches stay alphabetical and folder compilation keeps file-path order. This can change merged sibling order, and which of two conflicting declarations is kept and reported first, when parts of one module or feature are imported at different depths. Applies to the .NET compiler, the standalone tool and the TypeScript compiler and VS Code extension. (#434)
- Canonical printing keeps
importlines in module and feature files where they were written instead of moving them directly after the description, so the timeline-order repair for imports that follow declarations (PLAY0516) is now offered. (#434)
Fixed
- The MCP server merges a workspace's files in file-path order, matching folder compilation on disk; it previously merged them in an order derived from document identifiers. (#434)
