• Modules and features can state what they depend on with depends on <Module>, depends on <Module>.<Feature> or depends on <SiblingFeature>, one target per line, after description. The statement is authoring metadata and does not change the executable model. (part of #416)
  • Targets resolve inside out: sibling features first, then the siblings of each enclosing feature, then modules. A target that is the container itself, one of its ancestors or descendants, or that names nothing raises a warning (PLAY0554). A repeated target is kept once with a warning (PLAY0555).
  • Declarations from several files accumulate. Layout expansion writes them only in the owning file. Renaming a module or feature through the workspace rename updates the targets that name it.
