Releases: CreatureSurvive/Postmortem

Postmortem 1.0.2

Choose a tag to compare

@CreatureSurvive CreatureSurvive released this 27 Sep 19:12
  • ReportStore.diagnostics() returns the newest reporting period first. Payloads stored in the
    same second used to come back in an arbitrary order.
  • Crash summaries render their code spans (fatalError, as!) instead of showing backticks.
  • List rows show the top frame's symbol when it resolves on device.
  • UI tests capture the README screenshots.

Postmortem 1.0.1

@CreatureSurvive CreatureSurvive released this 27 Sep 17:43
  • Fixed a stack overflow when a payload with a very deep call stack (such as a runaway recursion
    crash) was freed, compared or hashed on a background thread. Frame trees and parsed JSON are
    now released, compared and hashed with loops.
  • Diagnostic.raw no longer includes callStackTree, which is parsed into stackTrace.
  • The symbolicator only reads symbol tables that lie inside an image's mapped __LINKEDIT
    segment, and skips shared cache images by address as well as by header flag.
  • Builds with the macOS 15 SDK (Xcode 16.4), where MetricKit's metric payloads are unavailable
    on macOS. Metric collection on macOS needs the macOS 26 SDK.

Postmortem 1.0.0

@CreatureSurvive CreatureSurvive released this 27 Sep 17:18
  • Initial release: typed parsing of MetricKit diagnostic and metric payloads (tested against
    JSON generated by MetricKit itself), a nesting-unlimited JSON parser for deep stacks, crash
    explanations, on-device symbolication with Swift demangling, text reports and atos scripts,
    ReportStore persistence with deduplication and retention, PostmortemCollector, and
    SwiftUI viewers.
