WhittyArcade v0.2.0 Preview 2

This is the first WhittyArcade preview published for both Windows and Linux.
It provides one portable Windows 10/11 package and native archives for five
current Linux targets, all built from the same private engine commit.

Desktop platforms

• Windows 10/11 x86-64 portable ZIP, including the required runtime DLLs.
• Ubuntu 24.04 x86-64.
• Debian 13 x86-64.
• Fedora 43 x86-64.
• openSUSE Tumbleweed x86-64.
• CachyOS / Arch Linux x86-64.
• Native file selection and per-user storage on both host families.
• No installer or administrator access is required on Windows.

Emulator changes

• Adds Dirt Dash (World, DT2 Ver.C) and Aqua Jet (World, AJ2 Ver.B) to the
  supported Super System 22 catalog.
• Retains Time Crisis boot/gameplay, C352 audio, mouse light-gun aiming,
  trigger and pedal controls from the earlier Linux preview.
• Adds Galaxian and UniWar S to the playable classic-board catalog alongside
  Moon Cresta.
• Adds Virtua Cop 2 ROM-loading groundwork. Virtua Cop 2 is not yet exposed as
  a playable catalog entry in this release.
• Recognises 19 working sets. Ridge Racer Full Scale is also recognised but
  remains marked not working.

• Every target completed its release build, non-ROM automated test suite,
  stripped-package smoke test and artifact upload successfully.
• The portable Windows ZIP was smoke-tested with its staged DLLs. Private
  debug symbols are not included in this public release.
• Each public archive has a separate SHA-256 checksum asset. Executables also
  carry verification data inside their package.

No ROMs, firmware, keys or links to game-data downloads are included or
provided. Use only game data that you are legally entitled to use. Merged,
split and non-merged MAME-compatible layouts remain supported.

Official unmodified binaries are licensed for personal, non-commercial use.

WhittyArcade v0.1.0 Preview 2 — Time Crisis

WhittyArcade v0.1.0 Preview 2

Preview 2 adds Time Crisis (World, TS2 Ver.B) and the Super System 22 hardware
path to the CachyOS / Arch Linux x86-64 release.

Time Crisis

• Validated timecris ROM loading, including the 4 MiB program, texture,
  tilemap, point, sprite, sample and internal M37710 data regions.
• Super System 22 main bus, M37710 boot/input path, C374/VICS sprites,
  programmable gamma/fade, layer mixer, CZ/fog tables and point RAM.
• Mouse movement maps to calibrated absolute light-gun coordinates inside the
  4:3 game image.
• Left click fires.
• The player begins hidden. Hold Space to stand/attack; release Space or
  right-click to take cover and reload.
• A thick cyan P1 target sight replaces the desktop pointer. The shared gun
  interface also has a distinct red/magenta P2 sight for future two-player
  cabinet profiles.
• Existing per-game keyboard/controller profiles can replace the default gun,
  trigger and pedal inputs.
• The public Pages header now displays GitHub's anonymous count of Linux
  release-archive downloads without cookies or custom visitor analytics.

• Local ROM audit accepted timecris and every installed working set.
• Live validation reached Time Crisis attract and gun gameplay with 3D,
  sprites, text, C352 audio, mouse aim, trigger and pedal transitions.
• Public executable is stripped of nonessential ELF symbols and smoke-tested
  after stripping. SHA-256 checksums are provided inside and beside the
  release archive.

ROM setup

Use a legally obtained World TS2 Ver.B timecris.zip and place
namcoc71.zip beside it, or import both through ROM Library / Import.
Time Crisis carries its M37710 firmware data and does not need
namcoc74.zip. Merged, split and non-merged MAME-compatible layouts remain
supported.

No ROMs, firmware, keys or links to game-data downloads are included or
provided.

Preview status

Time Crisis boot, attract/gameplay scenes, audio and cabinet inputs are
working in this preview. Some Super System 22 fog and sprite alpha/blend
details remain experimental; this release does not claim pixel-perfect video.

WhittyArcade v0.1.0 Preview 1

The first public WhittyArcade binary release for current CachyOS and Arch
Linux x86-64 systems.

Highlights

• Board-grouped launcher for Namco System 22, Sega Model 1, Sega Model 2,
  Phoenix, Galaxian and Sega System 16B.
• ROM library supporting merged, split and non-merged MAME-compatible layouts.
• Global, per-board and per-game keyboard/controller profiles.
• OpenGL, Vulkan and software presentation backends.
• EEPROM/NVRAM management and verified high-score persistence.
• Sega Model 2 coverage includes Sega Rally Championship Revision C, with
  boot, video, geometry, I/O, audio and race-regression checks in the test
  suite.
