Studio 4000 v0.0.19
The start page on a phone can be tapped and scrolled. The session types, How things work, Join, audio setup, and Recent are all on that page. Desktop mode is unchanged.
Hover either end of a clip and the pointer becomes trim arrows, whichever tool is selected. Double-click a clip to open the Editor. IN and OUT boxes fade the start and the end, in the arrangement and in the Editor, and overlapping clips crossfade. A clip has a blue pan line next to the yellow gain line, and the track name row has a pan bar. With snap on, a dragged clip catches another clip's start or end, and any marker. Hold Ctrl while dragging a clip up or down to keep its time. Hold Alt while dragging to drop a copy.
The purple loop bar can be resized from either end. Right-click it to turn looping on or off, or to clear it. Delete clears it when the bar was the last thing you clicked or moved.
The public page fits a phone. Menus, transport, tracks, mixer, effects, and the start screen stay on the page, and every control can be reached. Sound and recording still need the Windows app.
Drag the bottom-left of a clip to change its volume, and the waveform grows or shrinks with it. A new audio track or bus can be stereo or mono. Track effects and clip effects each have their own dry/wet bar. Export asks for a name and a folder, and can write MP3, or MP3 and WAV together.
Joining a live session stays connected. The host's code tries this network first, then the internet address, and Join again replaces a connection that dropped.
Studio 4000 includes its own auto filter, auto pan, channel strips, DJ EQ, dual filter, expander, resonant filter, flanger, mono delay, overdrive, ring modulator, signal generator, tilt EQ, utility, FM synth, and analog poly synth.
File → Save as writes the session to a folder you choose and copies its audio there. A stereo file stays stereo, and the clip draws the left channel above the right. The master sits at the bottom of the track list, with its effects, level, and speaker output.
A blank bus can take a vocal or any other track. Point the track's output at the bus and it plays through that bus, with or without an effect on it.
Zooming in on the tracks keeps the timeline filled instead of leaving a blank page on the right. Double-clicking an effect opens a window tall enough to show the whole editor.
What's new opens the first time a session starts, and again from Help. The label at the bottom is this build. Hosting is a button: Studio 4000 opens the connection and gives one code, and the other person pastes it to join from another network. End closes the session for everyone, and Leave returns to the join screen. Effects minimize to a few knobs, keep each knob's color in every view, and show a green power light when they are on. Several effects can be copied, pasted, deleted, or reordered together, and a chain can be saved and loaded on a track or an audio clip. Audio clips have a gain line. The ruler shows clock time. MIDI notes stay inside a clip while it is dragged. New clips do not get a tiny automatic fade. The light theme is a darker silver with near-black section lines, and the track level bar keeps the dark shape.
The Effects tab keeps the chain in a row. An open effect is only as tall as its controls, so the whole panel fits without stretching that section. The same screens can be opened in a phone or tablet browser; sound and recording still need the Windows app. Dragging an effect lands it where the line shows. The same drag works on the track list and the mixer. A showcase page in the site folder shows the studio and downloads the latest Windows zip from this project. The first panel under the tracks is Effects: the selected track's effects sit in a row, and each one opens, closes, reorders, and can be edited or removed. Drop another effect on that row to add it. The track name panel stays solid, so the waveform no longer shows through the controls. The AKAsheet tip in the top bar is nearly solid pink. Light mode now covers effect windows, menus, and popups, and selected labels stay dark enough to read. Bar lines show on the light track page. A level can be typed, and double-clicking a mixer meter sets it to 0 dB. AKAsheet links include the Studio 4000 referral.
Opening the app while online installs the newest published build, then brings the window back.
Mixer levels use an even decibel scale: the same number of decibels is the same distance above and below 0, and on the way down. A Light button on the menu bar switches to a lighter theme. AKAsheet tips are pink.
Faders now reach +15 dB, with more level marks around 0 and above it, on the full mixer and the mixer under the tracks.
Holding an effect shows the effect you are dragging and a line where it will land, on the mixer and on the track headers.
Chorus opens with depth, speed, width and mix, and a picture of the voices moving.
The landing page keeps Ctrl+J on one line. AKAsheet is the sixth start card, and its mark sits in the bottom-right corner of that page.
Studio 4000 v0.0.20
IN and OUT sit under the clip name, after the L and at the right end, so the name stays whole. Drag a fade sideways to change its length, or up and down to make it steeper, straight, or lighter. The track name row shows pan as a knob with a C, L, or R readout.
