Pointer Finder 2.0 v1.4.2
Change Log for v1.4.2
✨ Major Changes
Transition to Exclusive State-Based Scanning
Pointer Finder 2 has deprecated the traditional "Live Scan" (Reverse Breadth-First Search) method in favor of State-Based Scanning (Differential Analysis).
- Why? The Live Scan method was prone to false positives and high memory usage. State-Based scanning, which compares multiple memory dumps, guarantees 100% validity for static pointers and ignores temporary addresses.
- Changes:
- The "New Pointer Scan" and "Refine Scan" buttons have been removed.
- The "State-Based Scan" button is now the primary method for finding pointers.
ScannerOptionsForm(used for Live scans) has been removed.
🚀 Improvements & Refactoring
1. Streamlined User Interface
- The main dashboard (
MainForm) has been simplified. The toolstrip now contains only State-Based Scan and Filter Dynamic Paths. - The
EmulatorProfilesystem has been refactored to remove the legacyScannerFactory, reducing code complexity.
2. Codebase Optimization
- Legacy Code Removal: All logic related to the old scanning strategies (
Pcsx2ScannerStrategy,DolphinLiveScannerStrategy,LiveScannerStrategyBase, etc.) has been removed to reduce application footprint and maintenance overhead. - Scan Coordinator Update: The
ScanCoordinatorhas been streamlined to handle the new single-pipeline workflow.
