having trouble testing a specific function in foundry

hey guys so i tried testing a specific function in foundry by running the command below

forge test -m testPriceFeedVersionIsAccurate

and it gave me this error

error: unexpected argument '-m' found

ive installed foundry and everything has been working well so far, that includes the deployment,using private keys and pretty much everything else..i can also test contracts i just cant test specific functions..can someone help me

Hello @Riocodex the issue may be the -m flag which is deprecated according to the docs, try with --match-test <NAME_OF_THE_TEST_FUNCTION>.

okay well i tried to resolve the error in the video by adding my forked mainnet and i did so by typing this command

 forge test --match-test testPriceFeedVersionIsAccurate -vvv --fork-url $SEPOLIA_RPC_URL

and i got this error

When you deploy FundMe.sol you need to pass the priceFeed as the parameter for the constructor, currently you are deploying the contract without it.

Your setUp function in FundMeTest.t.sol should look like this:

Here I'm hard-coding the address of the ETH/USD price feed for Sepolia but remember you can dynamically pass the address of the priceFeed with an IF-statement to check on which chain you're running the test.

my test goes perfectly well when i hit forge test --fork-url $SEPOLIA_RPC_URL the problem isnt really my code, i just want to know the syntax for testing a particular test function

Here's the syntax for testing a particular function in your test file.

forge test --match-test function_name

optionally, if you are testing on a forked environment, you want to use the --fork-url flag along with your RPC URL param.
