Kanji Details

• Added two display modes for related words:

Custom Lists

• Improved bulk add/remove feedback: list counters now show how many selected kanji will actually be added or removed.

This release introduces the first version of Kanji Training.

What's new

• Added Kanji Training with three training sources:
  • Review — practice kanji already marked as Known
  • Learning — practice kanji currently being learned
  • New — practice new kanji from the Recommended pool
• Training focuses on reproducing kanji from memory using their meanings and readings.
• Reveal the kanji and mark your answer as Correct or Incorrect.
• Review results after each iteration and practice:
  • all kanji again,
  • the current iteration,
  • or mistakes only.
• Move kanji between Learning and Known directly from training results.
• Added bulk result actions for faster progress management.
• Training progress is only applied to the dictionary when the session is finished.
• Improved presentation of On/Kun readings during training.

Update testing

Updating from 0.4.0-alpha to 0.5.3-alpha was tested on a real device.

Existing user data (Learning / Known kanji) was preserved successfully after installing the new APK over the previous release.

Notes

KanjiDB is still in alpha. Training is intentionally simple in this version and will be expanded in future releases.

Requires Android 8.0 (API 26) or newer.
