D2PLUS Alpha V1.0 — More trouble in Sanctuary

Alpha V1.0 is here! This update gives you a couple of new reasons to watch your back, and a fresh look for more of Sanctuary.

Azmodan the Lord of Sin joins Baal in all three difficulties, replacing the Act V Warden. He has a custom four-legged model, his own attacks, and Diablo-style loot with a higher chance of no drop.

The Butcher is back beside Griswold in Tristram, complete with his cleaver, voice lines and combat sounds. He hits hard, has high defense and lower resistances. Uber Tristram gets its own separate Uber Butcher.

Lut Gholein gets a dark gothic Egyptian makeover, the Arcane Sanctuary has a new gothic look, and Harrogath is darker, snowier and caught in heavier snowfall.

The Gothic Rose HUD brings back the familiar health and mana orbs with weathered roses, embellished angel and demon statues, and updated belt alignment. Other menu borders stay familiar.

Greater and Super healing/mana potion artwork has been swapped so the stronger tier reads larger. Rejuvenation potions have a stronger presence in monster potion drops, and the Cairn Stones now wear dark stone and gold.

All of this comes in one standalone D2RMM mod, along with the earlier town upgrades, custom mercenaries, Warlock look, set radiance and the Harrogath stash fix. The launcher, offline references, Android companion and loading splash are updated together.

The Butcher's normal loot matches Griswold. In Nightmare he uses Normal Andariel's regular loot, and in Hell he uses Nightmare Andariel's regular loot. His Uber version has its own balance and loot.

Getting the update

Use the new Windows launcher installer or portable download, then choose Install AlphaV1.0 in Setup to update the game files. Updating the launcher alone does not install the gameplay update.

For D2RMM, extract D2PLUS_AlphaV1.0_Complete_D2RMM.zip into your D2RMM application's mods folder. Enable D2PLUS - Alpha V1.0 Complete and disable older D2PLUS complete bundles and the included test/visual addons. Click Install Mods. This is one complete fixed-settings mod; no older D2PLUS version or separate addon is required.

Close D2R before installing. Keep your existing output name and save path (normally D2RMM), and start a new game for the new monster spawns. Character saves are not included or changed. Requires your own Diablo II: Resurrected with Reign of the Warlock.

The Android download is the offline companion, not the game. It retains the existing signing identity and updates to versionCode 100 / 1.0.0-alpha.

This release uses the supplied, user-confirmed working D2PLUSAlphaV1.0.zip. Only loading-screen/version branding is changed during packaging. Automated package and app checks are separate from testing every encounter or Android device. Let us know what feels good and what still needs a tweak!
