1.1.9 — Multi-filament slicing and X2D status support
BambuStudio multi-filament slicing now supplies a colour for every filament slot and places an unset prime tower within the shared nozzle area. Saved project tower coordinates and standalone custom settings are preserved.
Huge thanks to @sebas1986 (Sebastian) for the careful crash bisection, multi-filament fixes, and real X2D status/slicing evidence in #18! His original commits are preserved in #19 and he is credited in CONTRIBUTORS.md. Thanks also to @VailElla for the hardware evidence that clarified the X2D transport limitation, and to every contributor whose work made this release possible!
Changes
- Recognize X2D model ID N6 and serial prefix 20P for status, camera routing, and slicing with its own installed preset.
- Preserve explicit filament colours, project colours, and custom profile colours, with a valid default for otherwise unset slots.
- Preserve saved prime-tower coordinates and explicit process overrides; use automatic placement only when unset.
- Keep unrelated settings intact when applying required CLI fields to standalone custom profiles.
- Repair automatic desktop-extension packaging and update shared agent/review guidance.
X2D printing
Direct X2D printing remains deferred pending native eMMC transport support. Requests stop before slicing or contacting the printer. Use a supported slicer to print. The explicitly configured BambuNetwork bridge is a separate route; this release does not claim hardware validation for it. X2D status and slicing do not establish print support.
Known limitation
Incomplete or malformed project colour arrays currently fall back as a whole. Supply a complete filament_colours list or re-save the project with complete colours to preserve the intended slots. Per-slot recovery is deferred.
Validation
- Clean TypeScript build; 185 tests passed, 2 optional skips, zero failures. Separate behavior check: 50/50 passed.
- Native BambuStudio 02.01.01.52 regression run preserved the saved H2D tower at (160,100) and produced 141,686 bytes of G-code.
- Contributor reports successful multi-filament slicing on Windows BambuStudio 02.08.02.60 and live X2D MQTT status. No physical X2D print was performed for this release.
- Fresh install from npm 1.1.9 and the downloaded GitHub desktop extension completed a real stdio MCP handshake with 43 tools, the patched printer dependency, Blender tool availability, and model/X2D safety checks. The published npm integrity matches the locally tested tarball, and the extension SHA-256 matches GitHub's asset digest.
- Linux CI and both publication workflows passed on merged commit
