Fixes the update pipeline: repo source was stranded at 1.0.9, so every tag pointed at 1.0.9 files and the update checker read that stale Version: header and reported 'up to date'. Source now synced through 1.0.17. Also: guard the optional share-bar wiring in the Highlights engine (unguarded null.addEventListener aborted boot before render), plus a double-run guard so the year dropdown cannot render twice.
