Time Crisis II VR v0.3.3 - Graphics options and launcher icons
Time Crisis II VR v0.3.3
New since v0.3.0: resolution presets, optional texture filtering, and Quest launcher artwork for the standalone Quest and Windows OpenXR/desktop ports.
Changes and controls
- Open options with the left menu button. Use left stick up/down to reach GRAPHICS.
- Select Default, 1280 x 1344, 1680 x 1760, 2550 x 2640, 2940 x 3080, or 3360 x 3520 pixels per eye with right stick left/right. Left stick click restores Default.
- Resolution saves automatically and applies after fully closing and restarting the app. The menu shows the active size separately from the saved selection. Default preserves the previous resolution; unsupported presets fall back to Default.
- Texture filtering defaults to ON, including older settings files. While paused, squeeze and release the physical left grip to toggle ON/OFF immediately. The setting is saved. Gameplay grip/cover controls are unchanged.
- Filtering smooths world textures while preserving HUD/text sampling. It does not add mipmaps or eliminate all distance shimmer.
- Android icons, adaptive icons and launcher banners replace missing/black artwork in launchers such as QGO.
- Windows keyboard: Tab changes the options page; Left/Right selects resolution on Graphics, Home restores Default, and F toggles filtering.
Downloads
- TimeCrisis2VR-v0.3.3-quest3.apk: sideload onto Quest with
adb install -r. Android version code 11. - TimeCrisis2VR-v0.3.3-windows-x64.zip: extract the entire archive. Connect an OpenXR headset and run Play VR.cmd, or use Play SteamVR.cmd to select an installed SteamVR runtime. Play Desktop.cmd starts mouse/keyboard play.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums for the attached packages.
Game content, weapon models and attribution are included. Existing options and game data are retained by compatible in-place updates.
Validation and limits
Settings migration/persistence, controller navigation and held-input guards, runtime/GPU size limits, and 38 GLES menu views pass in all three ports. Production world-filtering and overlay regressions pass. The Quest APK was installed and its hash verified; startup at 1680 x 1760 and 3360 x 3520 per eye was confirmed on Quest 3.
The Windows x64 package passes clean-ZIP extraction, internal hashes, model attribution and a native desktop render test through 1,501 simulation frames, followed by normal shutdown with no CPU traps or graphics errors. This validates desktop startup/rendering, not a live PCVR headset session.
Higher resolutions require more GPU time and memory. Sustained performance for each preset and a new Windows headset playthrough remain unverified. These are experimental ports.

Time Crisis II VR v0.3.0 - Namco gun, tracers and Robert route
Time Crisis II VR v0.3.0 adds Tracer Squeeze, Martoscar's Namco Arcade Gun, physical grip-fit controls, calibrated world scale and an experimental Robert/P2 route. Available for Quest standalone and Windows PCVR / desktop.
Downloads
- TimeCrisis2VR-v0.3.0-quest3.apk: sideload with
adb install -rand open Time Crisis II VR (Test) under Unknown sources. - TimeCrisis2VR-v0.3.0-windows-x64.zip: extract fully, connect your OpenXR headset, and run Play VR.cmd; Play Desktop.cmd runs without a headset.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums for both packages.
Game files and weapon models are included. The Quest package and signing key are unchanged, so updates preserve settings and cabinet data. This is an experimental release.
New controls
- B cycles LASER → OFF → TRACER → LASER (Y in the saved left-hand layout). Tracer Squeeze shows an orange surface-terminated ray for 65 ms after an accepted shot, without another raycast. It is a tracked-VR effect.
- The Namco gun replaces the generic pistol and uses whole-model recoil. The machine gun still switches automatically during scripted sections.
- Open options. On the first page, right stick left/right adjusts WORLD SIZE (25–400%) and left stick left/right adjusts VIEW DISTANCE (0–100 cm). Start with 100% / 0 cm. Saved settings are retained. Geometry and aim update together even while paused.
- Left stick up/down switches options pages. On GUN FIT / PLAYER, right stick up/down raises/lowers the gun and right/left pulls it back/forward in 5 mm steps. Left click resets both offsets. Model, muzzle and aiming origin stay aligned.
- On the same page, left stick left/right selects Keith/P1 or Robert/P2. Completely close and reopen the app to apply. Robert uses the original alternate route; this is standalone play with the original local HUD/input slot, not linked two-player emulation. A complete Robert-route playthrough is still pending.
Validation
Android and Windows release builds pass input/settings, world-scale/aim, 21 GLES menu previews, tracer lifetime/stereo, weapon rendering and package-integrity checks. Both P1 and Robert replays reach 28,201 frames without CPU traps, FP exceptions or unknown C435 commands; Robert was rechecked from the final Windows ZIP. Real scene captures confirm alternate viewpoints and combat progress. The local test build runs on Quest 3 with the Namco gun and new options; the runtime confirmed 120 Hz during startup. This does not establish sustained 120 FPS throughout the game. The earlier v0.2.0 PCVR playtest used Quest 3 with Virtual Desktop; a new full PCVR playthrough is pending.
Thanks to Martoscar for the Namco Arcade Gun, licensed CC BY 4.0. The port converts its axes/grip/muzzle, reconstructs missing normals, bakes base colors and uses lightweight lighting/whole-model recoil. Attribution is included in both packages.

Time Crisis II VR v0.2.0 — Quest 3 and PCVR
Time Crisis II VR v0.2.0
First public release of the native arcade Time Crisis II VR port for Meta Quest 3 standalone and Windows PCVR / desktop. Based on spacestate1/namco22-decompile, using its pinned System 23 arcade core. The VR host is adapted from Time Crisis VR.
Downloads
- TimeCrisis2VR-v0.2.0-quest3.apk: sideload and open Time Crisis II VR (Test) from Unknown sources.
- TimeCrisis2VR-v0.2.0-windows-x64.zip: extract fully, connect your OpenXR headset, then run Play VR.cmd. Use Play Desktop.cmd without a headset.
- SHA256SUMS.txt: checksums for both packages.
Both packages include the game files and weapon models; no separate ZIP import is needed. The Quest package is org.timecrisis2.arcadevr, separate from the first Time Crisis VR.
Included
- Tracked stereo world rendering and shooting with either hand.
- Grip cover or physical ducking; adjustable gun angle and saved options.
- Laser enabled by default, with a silent toggle.
- Automatic pistol / Tripo3D machine-gun switching, slide animation, recoil, muzzle flash and haptics.
- Aligned health/ammunition HUD and player markers.
- Cinematic letterbox removal in VR while preserving transition text.
- Correct sRGB output and supported headset refresh-rate selection.
- Correct sparse-input replay for reproducing gameplay reports.
Validation
The game code matches the tested 0.1.0-test.4 build. Quest 3 gameplay, HUD alignment and machine-gun behavior were tested. The user also completed a successful PCVR playtest through Virtual Desktop on Quest 3. That PCVR session reported 90 Hz and 1980 x 2160 pixels per eye on an RTX 3050 Laptop GPU.
A corrected 28,201-frame replay completed with zero CPU traps, floating-point exceptions or unknown C435 commands. Ninety-three desktop render comparisons were pixel-identical after the transition fix; selected transitions passed both-eye shader checks. The release packages pass their integrity checks.
This is an experimental release, not a complete-game compatibility or sustained-performance guarantee. Other headsets and runtimes remain unverified. The arcade simulation runs at approximately 59.906 Hz; headset presentation uses the runtime-selected rate (120 Hz when offered, otherwise a supported lower rate).
