First public release unifying landslide, flood, avalanche and weather alerts
A comprehensive Home Assistant custom integration that provides Norwegian weather and geohazard warnings from multiple official sources:
- Landslide, Flood, and Avalanche warnings from NVE (Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate)
- Weather alerts from Met.no (Norwegian Meteorological Institute)
All warnings unified in a clean, modern Home Assistant interface with automatic icon display and rich alert data.
Features
Warning Types
- Landslide warnings (NVE/Varsom.no) - Jord- og flomskredfare
- Flood warnings (NVE/Varsom.no) - Flomvarsling
- Avalanche warnings (NVE/Varsom.no) - Snøskredvarsling
- Weather alerts (Met.no) - Meteorological warnings (wind, rain, snow, etc.)
Version 2.0.0 introduces breaking changes that require migration:
- Integration renamed:
varsom→norway_alerts - Domain changed: All entity IDs will change from
sensor.varsom_*tosensor.norway_alerts_* - New warning types: Met.no weather alerts now available alongside NVE geohazard warnings
- Architecture change: One sensor per warning type (previously supported multiple types per sensor)
Migration Steps:
- Remove the old
varsomintegration completely from Settings → Devices & Services - Delete any automations or dashboards referencing old
sensor.varsom_*entities - Install
norway_alertsintegration (via HACS or manually) - Add integration for each warning type you want to monitor
- Update automations and dashboards with new entity IDs
What's New:
- Met.no weather alerts integration (CAP-formatted data)
- Improved configuration flow with conditional fields
- Better county support (updated for 2024 Norwegian administrative structure)
- Enhanced attribute structure with warning-type-specific fields
