Releases: DVS-code/FH6-Character-Converter
Release list
v1.0.1
Target selection, a clearer window, and recovery from game updates.
Pick who to replace
The window now lists the characters and outfits found in your own game folder, grouped into Outfits and Base characters. Nothing is hardcoded, so the list matches the game you actually have.
Entries marked * are confirmed working in game. Everything else is built and checked the same way, but has not had an in-game test — the converter says so before it starts, and Restore stock always puts the originals back.
Base characters from the interface
Replacing a driver directly, with no outfit equipped, no longer needs the command line. These targets also patch CustomisationAssets.xml to hide clothing on the replaced character. Still experimental.
Recovery after a game update
When FH6 updates, it rewrites the files the converter saved as originals. That used to fail with "Game archive changed outside this installer" and no way forward. The converter now recognises that case and offers to re-read your originals.
This is only offered when nothing it installed is still in place, so files changed by a different modding tool are still refused rather than overwritten.
Also
- A four-step sidebar that tracks where you are, plain-language installer errors, an application icon, and a grey and green theme.
convert_character.pyandconvert_base_character.pyboth take--target; the outfit converter no longer assumes the female skeleton.
Validation
Converting the Dinosaur Outfit produces byte-identical archives to 1.0.0 from the same source model, so target selection did not change the tested path. Install and restore round trips were verified against a real installation for an outfit target and for a base character (four files including the XML) — both restored every file to its original bytes. 18 synthetic tests and the packaged-EXE checks pass.
Only the Dinosaur Outfit (Female) is confirmed in game. Material, morph, animation, and LOD limitations are unchanged from 1.0.0.
