v1.4
HackByte v1.4 Release Notes
Overview
HackByte v1.4 brings both stability improvements and new features to the CLI interface. It introduces full error handling across commands to prevent crashes, and adds two major features: fuzzy memory search and live process information.
What's New
1. Fuzzy Memory Search
A new fuzzy command set allows scanning memory for values that change over time, even when the exact value is unknown. This is particularly useful for tracking dynamic values such as health, timers, or counters.
-
fuzzy start <type>
Initializes the fuzzy scan by recording all values of the specified type (e.g.,dword,float). -
fuzzy increased
Filters and displays addresses where the value has increased since the last scan. -
fuzzy decreased
Filters and displays addresses where the value has decreased since the last scan.
2. Process Info Viewer
The new info command displays detailed information about the currently attached process:
- PID and process name
- Runtime status and uptime in seconds
- UID/GID of the process
- Resident memory size (VmRSS)
- Thread count
- Path to the executable binary
This allows users to inspect and verify target processes more easily.
3. Error Handling for All CLI Commands
All CLI commands have been updated with try-except blocks to ensure stable execution and provide informative feedback in case of:
- Invalid input or missing arguments
- Memory access failures
- File read/write errors
- Non-existent or inaccessible processes
This update makes the CLI much more resilient to runtime errors and user mistakes.
Updated Commands
The following commands now include error handling:
attach,killscan,refine,resultsedit,freezescript,save,loaddummy,clear,infofuzzy,exit
