What's new

Update 42 (2026-10-04)

  • GoldenEye Aztec: the keyboard beside the mainframes can be used again to slide them open (thanks Odeyseis)
  • GoldenEye, HD look: guards' side caps and the Dam officer's peaked cap now sit down on the head and cover the hair (thanks Odeyseis)
  • GoldenEye: guards who sneeze now make the sneeze sound (thanks Odeyseis)
  • GoldenEye arenas: a simulant's slap no longer kills in one hit
  • Goldfinger 64 Cartel: stopping in the silo doorway by the swinging door no longer leaves you stuck (thanks savantique)
  • Goldfinger 64 Cartel ending: Bond stays on the floor while he checks his watch, even after a GoldenEye mission in the same session (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 City: getting on the motorbike keeps your gun out and no longer gives you tank shells (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 Party: Bond's line now shows when you draw the watch detonator after planting the remote mine (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 Party ending: Tamara no longer falls through the floor when the ending starts (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64: the MP5 and MP5A2 show one muzzle flash at the barrel, and the Remington's flash starts at its barrel tip (thanks raffine52)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64: taking out the Phone Taser no longer draws a flickering card across the screen with the Vulkan renderer (thanks Odeyseis)
  • XBLA look: the X-ray scanner shows Pelagic II's screens again (thanks trevor)
  • XBLA look: the spinning part of the menu eyepiece no longer cuts through itself (thanks Shockwave S08)
  • First start: the conversion screen now says CONVERTING GOLDENEYE (thanks Shockwave S08)
  • GoldenEye, Goldfinger 64 and Tomorrow Never Dies 64 convert once more on the next start

Update 41 (2026-10-04)

  • PD Ultimate Plus HD pack, XBLA look: Joanna's combat suit no longer shines on its fabric panels, only on the armour pads (thanks Parabolee)
  • Dump All Assets: Perfect Dark's textures now go in texture-dumps/pd-n64 and pd-xbla with an index.csv, laid out like GoldenEye's (thanks Parabolee)
  • Dump All Assets: Goldfinger 64 and Tomorrow Never Dies 64 textures are dumped too (gf64-n64, tnd64-n64), and a texture pack can carry those folders to repaint those games
  • Texture packs: a ge-n64 folder inside a pack no longer repaints Perfect Dark's own textures, and Goldfinger 64's higher texture numbers can now be replaced
  • Goldfinger 64, Tomorrow Never Dies 64 and GoldenEye convert once more on the next start

Update 40 (2026-10-04)

  • GoldenEye Facility and Jungle: you start with the watch detonator again, as on the cartridge (thanks Mike D)
  • GoldenEye Facility on 00 Agent: dropping out of the vent no longer fails the double agent objective at high frame rates (thanks REMi)
  • GoldenEye: armoured enemies such as Baron Samedi no longer cry out when a shot only makes them twitch, as in GoldenEye (thanks Odeyseis)
  • GoldenEye arenas: picking up the same gun from a second spot gives you its ammo instead of a dual-wield pair, as in GoldenEye (thanks dblaney1)
  • GoldenEye HD look with a Perfect Dark mod selected: Bond's own hand, the proper PP7 and the Moonraker laser are back instead of Perfect Dark's guns (thanks savantique)
  • GoldenEye Monitor Programmes: no Perfect Dark textures on the screens after switching the XBLA look off and on with a texture pack installed (thanks Shockwave S08)
  • GoldenEye Monitor Programmes, HD look: the Skateboard screen shows GoldenEye's own skater instead of dark photo stills (thanks Shockwave S08)
  • GoldenEye Streets, HD look: the kerb along the bottom of the walls is no longer dotted with dark spots
  • Goldfinger 64 and Tomorrow Never Dies 64: completed-difficulty checkmarks show the proper red tick instead of a scrambled picture (thanks N4h, savantique, Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 Bazaar: the jet rolls away down the runway when the ending starts (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 Party: the bouncer waits for you and talks, unless you come in holding a gun (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 and Goldfinger 64: shooting walls makes the mod's own impact sounds, as on its cartridge (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64: the LAW 80 in your left hand sits on your left shoulder instead of filling the screen
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 and Goldfinger 64: the MP5A2, the drum-magazine Thompson and the silenced PPKs show a muzzle flash when fired (thanks raffine52)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64: two looping sound effects no longer crash the game the first time they play (thanks to those who sent crash reports)
  • Mods that replace voice lines, such as Uncompressed VOX, no longer crash the game partway through a line
  • Perfect Dark with a mod selected: the SuperDragon switches back from its grenade launcher instead of staying stuck in that pose (thanks savantique)

Update 39 (2026-10-04)

  • Goldfinger 64: a shot knocks the guards' hats off as on the cartridge, instead of ringing off them like a steel helmet (thanks Odeyseis)
  • Goldfinger 64 Cartel: you no longer get stuck crouching in the second silo's doorway at high frame rates (thanks savantique)
  • Goldfinger 64: the Colt M1911 on the watch's mission page no longer shows Bond's fingers on its grip
  • GoldenEye Silo, HD look: the hazard arrows are painted on the concrete again, not solid blue squares (thanks Odeyseis)
  • GoldenEye Runway, HD look without the Community Edition: the release's own sky, so the peaks no longer meet a flat sky in a hard line (thanks echoremastered)
  • GoldenEye All Guns cheat: the Tank is on the list after the Detonator, as on the cartridge (thanks Casey)
  • GoldenEye: guards can no longer shoot you through a shut door, such as the windowed door at the foot of Bunker's stairs (thanks echoremastered)
  • GoldenEye Dam, HD look: shots just past the convoy truck no longer stop on an invisible wall beside it (thanks echoremastered)
  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64 The End: shooting the glass pane no longer crashes the game (thanks a tester)
  • Vulkan: more exact depth, so overlapping floor layers (such as Goldfinger 64 Capture's wall shadows) flicker much less

Update 38 (2026-10-03)

  • Tomorrow Never Dies 64: put tnd64.zip in added-content and its 14 missions and 11 arenas are converted at the next start, with its own row on the Perfect Menu
  • GE Plus is now just called GoldenEye in the menus and options
  • GoldenEye: picking up a gun prints the level's own words for it ("Picked up a silenced PP7.")
  • Goldfinger 64: its missions show its own target times
