v0.1.4 — Early alpha
v0.1.4 — Early alpha
Changes since v0.1.3
- Correct media-stream shutdown. Send the stop request on a fresh connection, keep the tunnel open until cleanup finishes, and report an unconfirmed stop rather than treating connection loss as success (#23).
- Mount the verified developer image from the local cache over Wi-Fi when the display service is missing and no image is mounted. Pairing and image downloads remain manual (#24).
- Retry Wi-Fi discovery within defined limits. Show separate checking, preparation, and startup steps, with clearer retry guidance (#24).
- Keep the viewer open when the receiver replaces a decoder. A failed player pipe ends the application instead of offering Retry with a stopped writer (#24).
- Use the active Omarchy theme for the toolbar and empty window space. Update colors without restarting capture (#25).
- Add a fixed 68-pixel toolbar with padded, rounded-square buttons. Place it directly below the phone image, with the same width. Ignore toolbar clicks in unused space (#25).
- Fit floating windows to the phone display in portrait and landscape. Preserve normal mouse and keyboard resizing, including one-logical-pixel steps. Keep normal tiled behavior. No Hyprland key bindings are changed (#25).
- Remove small encoder padding when display metadata establishes the visible dimensions. Leave other streams unchanged (#25).
Checks and limits
- The final source archive passed 227 application tests and 4 plugin tests. Its 50 files match the committed source, including executable bits. SHA-256 verification and shell syntax checks passed.
- Live MPV checks used synthetic video with Hyprland 0.56.2 and MPV 0.41.0. They covered portrait and both landscape directions, padding removal, tiled/floating transitions, toolbar placement, and repeated one-pixel width and height changes at 2× display scale.
- Earlier builds were checked on the local phone for shutdown and camera operation, and for cached-image preparation over Wi-Fi after a reboot. The installed toolbar changes were also checked locally. These checks do not establish support for all phones or hosts.
- This remains an early alpha. Intel/x86-64 support is not verified. These changes do not establish a fix for all
player-backlogfailures (#13). Wi-Fi discovery can be intermittent when the phone screen is off. Unlock the phone and keep its screen on during preparation. - Legacy Hyprland dispatcher handling is covered by simulated replies, not an older live compositor. The pinned pymobiledevice3 version remains 11.13.1; transitive dependencies are not locked.
Shutdown stops all CoreDevice media streams on the phone. Do not run another CoreDevice media session at the same time. A closed viewer or an empty session list does not prove camera recovery. Check camera operation after shutdown.
Install
curl -fsSL https://github.com/daniellemky/omarchy-iphone-mirror/releases/download/v0.1.4/install-online.sh | bash -s -- --release v0.1.4For an update with an already prepared phone, append --skip-phone-setup. The installer does not start the viewer. The checksum detects corrupt or mismatched downloads; it is not an independent signature.
v0.1.3 — Early alpha
Changes
- Follow iPhone portrait and landscape orientation in the viewer. Rotate taps and vertical wheel scrolling with the picture.
- On USB startup, mount a matching developer image from the local cache if none is mounted. This does not pair, download an image, or replace an existing mount. The phone can request a personalization ticket from Apple.
- Clarify pairing-record locations, Personal Hotspot troubleshooting, and the limited Intel/iPhone 15 Pro Max compatibility observation.
Validation and limits
- 178 application tests and 4 plugin tests passed on the source commit. The release archive passed source validation and SHA-256 verification.
- Landscape viewing was checked on a real iPhone over USB. Other phone and host combinations need testing.
- This remains an early alpha.
player-backlogcan still end a live session (issue #13). System audio and the onboarding changes in open PRs #12 and #14 are not included.
Install
Use the version-specific installer in the README with --release v0.1.3. The installer does not start the viewer or run phone setup without an interactive terminal. Use --skip-phone-setup when updating an already prepared phone.
v0.1.2 — Early alpha
Changes
- Open the mirror window during connection and show connection, failure, and disconnect status.
- Offer Retry Connection in the same window.
- Show a temporary status window while a previous session closes before relaunch.
- Preserve cleanup and shutdown requests across connection timeouts and retry.
Validation
- 148 application tests passed on the tagged source.
- Live USB video and input, and Wi-Fi disconnect/retry were confirmed during development. Compatibility remains limited.
Install
Use the version-specific installer in the README with --release v0.1.2. The installer does not start the viewer or perform phone setup automatically.
Automatic developer-image mounting is not in this release; it remains on a separate development branch.
v0.1.1 — Early alpha
Fixes a false unknown_display_features error during agent-led setup. The library returns RemoteXPC integer types; the checker now accepts them. Invalid values and zero supported media features still fail the check.
No phone reset, pairing change, or image remount is needed for this fix. Close the viewer before updating.
curl -fsSL https://github.com/daniellemky/omarchy-iphone-mirror/releases/download/v0.1.1/install-online.sh | bash -s -- --release v0.1.1For an update without phone setup, append --skip-phone-setup. The README includes the agent prompt and setup instructions.
Early alpha: device compatibility is limited. The tested reference is ARM64 Omarchy with an iPhone 13 running iOS 27. Intel support remains unverified. Phone calls interrupt mirroring on the tested USB configuration; reopen the viewer after the call ends.
Validation: 130 application/installer tests and 4 plugin tests passed. v0.1.0 remains unchanged.
v0.1.0 — Early alpha
Early alpha — limited device compatibility. This is not a stable release.
Install:
curl -fsSL https://github.com/daniellemky/omarchy-iphone-mirror/releases/download/v0.1.0/install-online.sh | bash -s -- --release v0.1.0For agent-led setup, read docs/agent-setup.md and append --skip-phone-setup to the install command. The installer prints the retained source directory containing setup-phone.sh. Each phone-changing command requires explicit approval. Passcodes and phone confirmations remain human-only.
This replacement includes the new agent-setup commands. Older v0.1.0 downloads do not; download the release again. The commands passed automated tests, but real-phone validation is pending.
Tested mirroring reference: ARM64 Omarchy, iPhone 13, iOS 27.0 build 24A437, developer image 27A5228h. Intel support remains unverified. Phone calls interrupt mirroring on the tested USB configuration; reopen the viewer after the call ends.
The installer does not install system packages or start the viewer automatically. Developer Mode and pairing are required. Read the README for requirements, known limits, and third-party licenses.
Validation: 130 application/installer tests and 4 plugin tests passed. Source archive checksums are provided; they are not independent signatures.
