OpenSwift v0.5
OpenSwift v0.5
OpenSwift is a local SwiftUI sketch studio for discussing and iterating on screen layouts. It does not compile or execute Swift and does not replace Xcode previews.
What you can do
- Open a project folder and browse its Swift files in the desktop Studio.
- Edit a Swift file and render an approximate, static phone preview from supported SwiftUI constructs such as
VStack,HStack,ZStack,Text,Button, and common layout modifiers. - Inspect the sketch tree, render output, and unsupported-feature notices; choose from the included iPhone device frames.
- Save edits to the open file. During a
.ui-session, Studio limits saves to the session target and explicitly allowed files. - Use the Python CLI to draw SVG/PNG previews, inspect a sketch as JSON, and create or inspect UI sessions with SHA-256 iteration evidence.
- Run the local web Studio against a project folder.
Downloads
- Windows:
OpenSwift-windows-x86_64.exe— NSIS installer. - Linux:
OpenSwift-linux-x86_64.AppImage— portable AppImage.
The preview is approximate: Swift code is parsed as a supported sketch subset. State, bindings, custom view execution, animations, breakpoints, and native Swift runtime behavior are not implemented.
