design-plan: The DESIGN.md guide and the ui-ux-auditor typography check no longer treat document.fonts.check() as evidence that a web font loaded. It returns true for a family name that no @font-face declares, even while the text falls back, which let the Pretendard mistake fixed in 7.2.0 through; computed font-family only echoes the declaration. Both documents now say to copy the family name from the loaded CSS (Pretendard v1.3.9: variable 'Pretendard Variable', static Pretendard, GOV 'Pretendard GOV', checked against the CSS files) and to judge loading with document.fonts.load() plus a render-width comparison against the stack without the checked font. The guide includes a runnable snippet, the example stacks use the variable family, and the auditor grep pattern also catches the lowercase jsDelivr URL and @font-face. (513ba47)
design-plan: The guide pointed to font-pairings.csv rows #74–82 with Pretendard bodies; the Korean rows are #74–84 and none is Pretendard, which is not on Google Fonts. (513ba47)
Documentation
English, Korean, Japanese and Chinese READMEs describe the fix under Recent changes. (15866bd)
Validation and Scope
Node: 265 of 265 passed.
The snippet was run verbatim from the guide in Chromium with Space Grotesk and the Pretendard variable CSS loaded, on a page without Korean text: the right name loaded 5 faces and reported the font applied; a wrong name loaded 0 faces and reported fallback.
A blind run gave a worker only the revised sections. It caught a planted defect (variable CSS, a "Pretendard" stack and a note claiming check() returned true) and wrote the variable family into the stacks. It also exposed a false positive in the first snippet: with a Latin font first and a spaced sentence measured against sans-serif, a wrong name still reported the font applied. This was reproduced and fixed before the commit.
Windows integrated installation (install.bat --all) passed all 12 final checks, and the installed copies of both documents for Claude Code, Codex and Antigravity match the source.
Not measured on a machine with a locally installed static Pretendard.
