🆕 What’s New

  • Removed Labor and Other columns for simpler cost tracking.

  • Added Logged By column to track who entered each record.

  • Added Reference feature: link each item to an external file for easy access.

  • Right-click context menu on table items:

    • Open Reference (if linked)
    • Copy Reference
    • Paste Reference
      This makes managing references fast and convenient.

  • Updated Excel structure to match the new column order:

    Item Description | Category | Unit | Material | Total | Brand | Date | Logged By | Reference | Remarks

💾 Installation

  1. Download the .exe file from the [Assets](https://github.com/DarcMattz/cost-tracker/releases/tag/1.1.0) section.
  2. Run the executable; no Python installation is required.
  3. Excel file (cost_data.xlsx) will be automatically created in the same directory if it doesn’t exist.

📝 Usage Instructions

  • Use the Add / Edit Item form to input new records.
  • Use Search to filter by item description or category.
  • Right-click on table rows to manage references.
  • The Logged By field helps track who entered or updated the record.
  • Double-clicking on the Reference column will open the linked file (if present).

⚡ Notes

  • The .exe is packaged using PyInstaller and includes all necessary dependencies.
  • Make sure the referenced files are accessible on your computer; moving them may break the links.
