LoadLab v0.1.2 - Native Rust & Go Benchmark Engines (Oha & Bombardier)

LoadLab v0.1.2 introduces two high-performance native engines (oha and bombardier) capable of pushing tens of thousands of requests per second with multi-core parallelism, along with a rate-limited mock endpoint for benchmark testing.

🚀 Highlights

• oha (Rust / Tokio / Hyper): Added support for the ultra-fast Rust benchmark engine with native HTTP/2 support, detailed microsecond latency percentiles (p50, p90, p95, p99), and low memory footprint.
• bombardier (Go / FastHTTP): Added support for Bombardier, built for raw HTTP throughput benchmarks pushing 20k–50k+ req/sec without choking the UI.
• Crash-Isolated Child Process Architecture: Both engines execute in isolated operating system processes, taking full advantage of all available CPU cores while keeping the Electron UI silky smooth.

✨ What's New

1. Native Engines in UI

• The Engine tab in the test builder now includes:
• oha (Rust / Hyper / HTTP/2)
• Bombardier (Go / FastHTTP)
• Autocannon (Default)
• loadtest (ab-compatible)
• Artillery (Scenario Runner)
• Both new engines support concurrency (-c), duration (-z / -d), request rate caps (-q / -r), custom HTTP methods, headers, and authentication tokens.

2. Mock Rate-Limited Test Endpoint

• Added /api/rate-limited to test/server.mjs.
• Default threshold: 100 req/sec (customizable via ?limit=N).
• Returns HTTP 429 Too Many Requests with standard rate-limit headers (X-RateLimit-Limit, X-RateLimit-Remaining, Retry-After: 1), allowing developers to test and visualize how apps behave under throttle conditions.

v0.1.1 - Release Notes

What's New

Collections

Organize saved tests into collections - create, rename, duplicate, and delete. New tests default into "My Collection"; unassigned tests show under a dedicated group.

Tabs

Multiple test editors can be open at once in the workspace tab bar. Middle-click or ✕ to close; unsaved changes prompt to save/discard.

History Panel

Saved tests and run history are now side-by-side panels in the sidebar with search.

Result Popups

A completed test no longer replaces the editor - results open in a popup with Run Again and Export JSON/CSV. Clicking a completed run in history opens the same detail popup.

Run Detail View

Stopped/failed runs open in a detail view with full stats.

Resizable Sidebar

Sidebar width is remembered between sessions.

Fixed

  • Completed runs in history previously did nothing when clicked - now open the run detail popup.

Internal

  • Added shared validation and safety warnings for test configs.
  • Engine/runner hardening.
