What is a Wildcard?

Wildcards are text files used by FooocusPlus to add randomness to a prompt. The example above shows the contents of the handheld Wildcard. Each line in a wildcard file represents a possible entry that will be inserted at random. Wildcards are placed into the prompt by surrounding the wildcard name with two underscores on either side. For example:

The Empress holds a small __handheld__ delicately in her hand while looking over the balcony.

During the generation process a random line from the handheld wildcard will be inserted into the prompt, for example:

The Empress holds a small musical instrument delicately in her hand while looking over the balcony.

The FooocusPlus Wildcard Display

As shown in the attachment above, FooocusPlus displays all available wildcards in the Wildcard accordion panel. If you select a particular wildcard - "handheld" in this case - it inserts it into the prompt and also displays all its possible entries in the Wildcard Contents panel.
