Windows Frotz 1.29 was released on 22nd September 2026.
- Added support for MP3 music resources, following the addition of MP3 to the Blorb specification. Decoding MP3 music is implemented using the minimp3 decoder library.
- When running a Z-code version 1 or 2 game, Windows Frotz now encodes input as per §3.7.1 of the Z-Machine specification. The only effect of this is to allow the use of the dictionary word "pdp10" in the Z-code versions 1 and 2 releases of Zork 1 (where it is a synonym for "machine").
- Fixed a bug where printed words longer than the window width would not get wrapped when they should.
- It is now possible to close the interpreter window and shut the interpreter down, even if the game gets stuck in an infinite loop and never waits for input.
