Chat Harvest is a free, open-source Mac app for turning locally stored Messages conversations into clean files for your AI chat, spreadsheet, or personal archive.

• Browse conversations in a familiar chat interface, with optional Contacts matching.
• Export CSV, Markdown, or JSON with readable timestamps, sender names, and message text.
• Choose a date range, remove reactions and emojis, and keep media placeholders.
• Search within a conversation or across your database, with highlighted matches and next/previous navigation.
• Work locally with read-only database access. No account or automatic uploads.

Download & setup

Download Chat-Harvest-macOS-arm64.zip, unzip it, and move Chat Harvest.app to Applications.

Requires Apple Silicon and macOS 13 or later. The app is ad-hoc signed and not notarized by Apple; follow the installation instructions and database setup guide.

A database copy is a snapshot. Create and open a fresh copy to include newer messages. Exports include locally available messages and media placeholders, not media files or iCloud-only history.

Verification

96 core checks plus the 50,000-message asynchronous search suite. The app signature and app-only ZIP were verified. A SHA-256 checksum is attached.
