Version 2.20 - 2024-09-19
Added features:
- The binding of the SELECT button has been changed to cycle through three vertical scrolling positions. This allows seeing the areas of graphics and text that were previously always hidden (for example "You think you hear footsteps!" in Space Quest 1). Implementing this was fairly complex, and it needs testing.
Fixes:
- The word count communicated to AGI logic was not updated by ParseInput(), meaning it would retain its previous value from the "Enter Input" dialog. This resulted in the following bugs:
- The AGI parse() command would not update the word count, meaning that a subsequent said() test would think the number of words parsed was the same as whatever command last entered in "Enter Input".
- Note that in Space Quest 1, the computer console interfaced to the cartridge retrieval unit would still accept the password
ASTRAL BODY, but only because the only command that gets there islook screen(or some synonym combo thereof) which has the same word count asastral body.
- Note that in Space Quest 1, the computer console interfaced to the cartridge retrieval unit would still accept the password
- If words with spaces were entered in "Enter Input" as separate words, for example
lookacrossinstead oflook across, the word count would be wrong (in this example, it'd be 2 when it should be 1). - Even with this bug, however, pressing the L button to recall the last command would finally correctly update the word count, so for example if you had entered
lookacross, it would be recalled aslook across, which the B button would delete in one step. (This correct behavior is unchanged by this fix.)
- The AGI parse() command would not update the word count, meaning that a subsequent said() test would think the number of words parsed was the same as whatever command last entered in "Enter Input".
vocab.binhas been edited to fix the categorization more verbs/nouns. Basically all of the words in Leisure Suit Larry are now correctly categorized.
