Free Starter 0.1.22 — clear failures and workflow state

@Ddupasquier Ddupasquier released this 20 Oct 19:33
b38e61f

Free Starter 0.1.22 — clear failures and workflow state

All included features remain free indefinitely, with no account, card or trial. Canonical identity: rehearsal-db.rehearsal-db (Rehearsal DB).

  • Actionable persistent migration failure explanations use core-owned evidence; exact unchanged PostgreSQL input can be opened safely in the native editor. Unknown source/line evidence stays unknown, and changed or dirty files are refused.
  • Unsupported external npm links get specific local-copy/tarball recovery instructions without relaxing package containment.
  • Active commands, recorded completed/failed rehearsals and databases left running are separate states.
  • Database-only projects no longer require browser-launch setup. Configured proof is distinct from actual recorded primary proof; missing, stale or failed evidence is not a pass.
  • Updated privacy/security/support guidance explains the explicit bounded local source action. No SQL upload, automatic rewrite/retry, database operation or forced reload is added.

Use core 1.0.2 for the new migration diagnostics. Confirm both versions are available in their official channels; older core versions retain conservative optional-contract handling.

Install / update

Install or update Rehearsal DB from VS Code Marketplace, or verify the attached universal VSIX against SHA256SUMS and choose Install from VSIX. Existing compatible automatic-update opt-ins remain independent and revocable; active sessions are not forcibly reloaded.

This portable JS package serves supported macOS/Linux extension hosts and the WSL 2 compatibility-preview route. It does not add native Windows database support. Legacy rehearsal-db.rehearsal installations require the documented explicit migration; they are not silently renamed or removed.

Protected CI, exact installed-core consumer checks, clean installation, 0.1.21 upgrade, rollback/reupgrade, uninstall, source/runtime identity and scoped native observations are recorded in core issue #186. Native GUI/Remote-WSL/assistive-technology limits remain explicit; compilation or adapter checks do not certify every device.

Rehearsal DB 0.1.21 — desktop platform update

Free Starter update, superseding the GitHub-only 0.1.20 before Marketplace submission.

  • Actual-host checks cover every foreground and automatic CLI/package dispatch before confirmation, terminal creation, update leases and activity writes; the host is checked again at launch. This closes the pre-inspection shortcut race in 0.1.20.
  • Windows guidance routes to a WSL 2 Linux extension host with the project on a proven Linux filesystem. Native Windows database commands are not supported.
  • Includes the macOS/Linux platform behavior, shell quoting, environment/path handling and update-file fixes introduced in 0.1.20, with organized OS setup helpers accompanying core 1.0.1.

All eight protected/platform CI checks passed. Full maintained check: 1,240 tests passed, plus exact-package isolated 0.1.19 upgrade/rollback/uninstall and final core-1.0.1 Test Lab inspection.

VSIX SHA-256: 95ab60e7548e571a0588fa1b00fc759b435aba3b391e518a738bb853506f097d.

Real macOS Intel/ARM, Linux and Windows adapter checks are separate from a native Remote-WSL editor walkthrough. Native Windows runtime, WSL Supabase/Auth/Storage, mobile/browser-only editors and unlisted operating systems are not certified. No payment, license, database lifecycle or automatic legacy-identity migration change.

Rehearsal DB 0.1.20 — desktop platform update

Rehearsal DB 0.1.20 — desktop platform update

Use WSL 2 on Windows. A final review found that a manually confirmed shortcut before initial inspection can reach terminal dispatch on native Windows. A host-level dispatch correction is being prepared as 0.1.21; 0.1.20 has not been submitted to Marketplace. Its artifact remains immutable. Do not use native Windows runtime commands.

Free Starter update for the canonical rehearsal-db.rehearsal-db extension.

  • Windows desktop guidance opens the project in a WSL 2 Linux extension host; native Windows inspection refuses before launching a CLI process.
  • PowerShell-aware terminal fallback, Windows environment/path handling and owned update-file cleanup.
  • macOS Intel/Apple Silicon, Linux and Windows adapter checks run on real hosted OS runners. These are not native Windows database or Remote-WSL editor walkthroughs.
  • Organized Windows/WSL, macOS and Linux setup helpers accompany the core 1.0.1 release. WSL projects must remain on a proven Linux filesystem.

All eight protected/platform CI checks passed on source 6762728242946eea80b4d20b0b78cf6ed3df778c. Local full check: 1,235 tests passed; changed-view checks, compiled adapter, Starter metadata, exact core-1.0.1 Test Lab inspection, and isolated install/upgrade/rollback/uninstall passed.

VSIX SHA-256: 34f3651d88c8550c8a8349580e9eaad8e42f59c2158dbe9cab047c7b87e421bd.

Native Windows database runtime, WSL Supabase/Auth/Storage, a native Remote-WSL editor round, mobile/browser-only editors and unlisted operating systems are not certified. No payment, license, database lifecycle or automatic legacy-identity migration change.

Rehearsal DB 0.1.19 — Free Starter

Pre-release

Choose a tag to compare

@Ddupasquier Ddupasquier released this 20 Oct 03:52
9293c04

Rehearsal DB is the free Starter database-change workbench for VS Code, paired with the free MIT-licensed @rehearsal-db/core@1.0.0 CLI. All included features are free indefinitely; no account, card or trial is required.

This release uses canonical extension ID rehearsal-db.rehearsal-db. It includes all current features and fixes: optional independent extension/CLI automatic updates, readable nonmodal configuration reviews, confirmed-exit terminal reuse, honest sandbox status, resource pagination and spacing, and the packaged license command.

Install

Download rehearsal-db-0.1.19.vsix and SHA256SUMS; compare the file's SHA-256 with the checksum before choosing Extensions → … → Install from VSIX…. Then run Rehearsal: Open Dashboard in a trusted project. The dashboard does not start a database or run a migration.

SHA-256: 6bb5e555e9106e505adf18b30c9ea88430b7f3667f7af68249909c448cdb5164

Existing previews through 0.1.18

The legacy ID rehearsal-db.rehearsal is separate. Finish any commands, close the sandbox app with Ctrl+C and wait for its lifecycle result, save work, explicitly uninstall that legacy ID, then reload VS Code before installing this canonical package. Do not install both together. No silent uninstall, private editor-state import, database reset or project configuration change is performed. Existing 0.1.18 downloads remain unchanged.

Shared user settings retain their values; review automatic-update preferences after migration. Private per-extension view/activity state and metadata-check consent are not copied. See the complete installation and migration guide.

Verification and scope

1,210 tests and all four protected CI checks passed. The frozen archive passed allowlist checks and isolated installation/uninstallation. Native VS Code 1.142.0 verified fresh canonical activation and preservation of legacy command ownership when the old identity is still present; dual installation is unsupported. Native verification used isolated profiles with no database operations.

This remains a technical preview, not a paid launch or a claim of full provider, assistive-technology or personal launch acceptance. Native Windows and remote/browser VS Code environments are not claimed as supported. Report issues through the Rehearsal tracker.

Rehearsal 0.1.18 — Free Starter, automatic updates and usability fixes

@Ddupasquier Ddupasquier released this 20 Oct 03:37
41afc98

All current Starter features, free

This public preview includes all previously local 0.1.13–0.1.17 improvements plus the current automatic-update and configuration-save fixes. No account, payment card, trial or activation is required; every included feature is free indefinitely under the bundled Starter license.

  • Separate, initially off extension and compatible CLI automatic-update choices; revocable machine-scoped consent, verified official artifacts, idle coordination and disabled npm install scripts.
  • Readable configuration reviews with Apply/Cancel/Saved/Return and exact on-disk save confirmation.
  • Reusable project terminals, honest sandbox opening/running/closing state, no dashboard reload flashing, and preserved view/input state.
  • Independent 5/10/25 resource pagination and spacing improvements.
  • Packaged license command works with the actual bundled LICENSE.txt file.

Install

Download both attached assets. Verify with shasum -a 256 rehearsal-0.1.18.vsix on macOS or sha256sum rehearsal-0.1.18.vsix on Linux, then use VS Code Extensions → … → Install from VSIX…. Save work before any requested reload. Use core @rehearsal-db/core@1.0.0; no database reset or configuration replacement is needed to update. Keep the previous reviewed VSIX for rollback.

Exact VSIX: 258,550 bytes, 66 ZIP entries. SHA-256: 5a716b6114c3ec2faba9cc4976bde8051b97ea28f5a5f100ee89d3013b7cec07.

Verification and limits

1,182 tests / 58 files, type checking, production build, compiled webview-controller initialization, formatting, free-Starter metadata, archive allowlist and isolated install/0.1.11 upgrade/uninstall passed. Exact core 1.0.0 Test Lab inspection passed; all four protected CI checks passed on PR #13. Source merged at 41afc9839a3622df43613ae0f2538012d74c9a36.

The unchanged updater modules also passed an isolated native companion-host test with real official VSIX 0.1.11→0.1.12 installed-byte verification and native-shell npm rc.8→rc.9 upgrade, dirty-file/revoked-consent deferral and install-script canary. This is not a claim that every candidate activation path, provider flow or assistive technology was observed. Operator PostgreSQL review/save/export/profile/verify/stop evidence is retained. Full BlendCalc Supabase/provider acceptance and the owner personal official-launch walkthrough are not claimed complete.

This is a free technical preview, not paid Pro or a support SLA. Marketplace availability is separate; use the verified GitHub download above. Installation and documentation · Support · Privacy.

Rehearsal for VS Code 0.1.12 — Version-aware dashboard

@Ddupasquier Ddupasquier released this 18 Oct 17:13

Version-aware dashboard

The top-right header now shows the loaded extension version, separately from your project's Rehearsal core version. A confirmed newer release shows installed → newest; unchecked or failed availability stays unknown.

  • Updates the badge without reloading the dashboard or losing navigation, focus, scroll or form state.
  • Keeps the version visible in compact windows.
  • Preserves opt-in release checks, explicit installation approval and all free Starter features.

Exact reviewed artifact

  • Extension: rehearsal-db.rehearsal@0.1.12
  • VSIX: rehearsal-0.1.12.vsix — 217,845 bytes, 57 files
  • SHA-256: dec62d5474ade0c3d92d05dad9d1ee050e27e723e054336486673882f6c224d6

  • Source: protected PR #12, merged commit 8b491d7f4bbd3d1657640a257d4402fe3f5d6874

Verification and limits

859 tests, type checking, compiled-controller initialization, formatting, free-Starter metadata checks and zero-vulnerability audit passed. All four required CI checks passed on Node.js 22/24/26 and the packaging job.

Exact-core Test Lab inspection, archive allowlisting, isolated 0.1.11 upgrade, rollback and uninstall passed. Fresh 960px Chrome dark/light checks confirmed the header, unknown/update states, compact migration navigation and no horizontal overflow. Preview “next version” data is synthetic, not a claim that 0.1.13 is published.

This is a free Starter GitHub technical preview, not Marketplace distribution or a paid launch. The owner's personal whole-product launch walkthrough and unobserved native, assistive-technology and additional viewport checks remain pending.

Install or update

Download both attached files and verify the VSIX with shasum -a 256 rehearsal-0.1.12.vsix. Then use Extensions → … → Install from VSIX…. An already-running extension host may need Developer: Reload Window after saving your work. Keep the prior reviewed VSIX for rollback.

GitHub VSIX installations do not automatically update themselves. Optional consented update checks provide release guidance; they never silently replace the extension.

Rehearsal for VS Code 0.1.11 — Free Starter

Active sandbox operations now show honest Paused inspection guidance instead
of suggesting that an existing baseline is missing. Follow Activity and the owning
terminal while the sandbox is open; inspection recovers after the operation closes.

All included Starter features remain free indefinitely for personal and commercial
development, without an account, card, trial or activation. Future Pro is separate.
CLI database and safety capabilities remain free under MIT.

815 checks, all four CI jobs, isolated install/upgrade verification and direct native
keyboard Create/Open/Stop and Ctrl+C/Ctrl+Z acceptance passed. The native paired
core was the exact reviewed rc.10; personal owner walkthrough and spoken screen-reader
acceptance remain separately unobserved. This is GitHub technical distribution,
not Marketplace, a paid launch or official whole-product launch.

Download the VSIX and use VS Code Extensions → … → Install from VSIX.
An existing compatible installation can be upgraded without removing project data.

@Ddupasquier Ddupasquier released this 18 Oct 03:26
01fb177

Rehearsal's free VS Code Starter preview now includes indefinite, no-charge use
of every feature in this version for personal and commercial development.
No account, payment card, trial or activation is required. Future optional Pro
offerings are separate and cannot reduce these granted rights. Rehearsal CLI
remains complete and MIT-licensed.

This release also separates and wraps the Data & auth baseline counts.

Install the attached rehearsal-0.1.10.vsix using VS Code's Extensions → … →
Install from VSIX…
. Open your application project and run Rehearsal: Open
Dashboard
from the Command Palette. See the installation guide.

SHA-256: 42e1ff9f18c87c273f641d1f2b30697861162ecc51a2d05bea4ed3059936eef2

Verified: 811 tests, type/build/controller/format checks, paired installed Test
Lab inspection, isolated 0.1.9 upgrade/uninstall and native count-spacing checks.
Protected PR #10 passed all four required checks. This technical preview is not
Marketplace publication, a paid offer, legal clearance or official-launch
acceptance. The complete native/owner walkthrough remains separately tracked;
do not treat these technical checks as spoken assistive-technology acceptance.

The bundled LICENSE owns the exact Starter grant and retained notices. Older
immutable previews keep their original bundled terms. No database, safety or
existing editor feature has been moved behind a paywall.

Rehearsal for VS Code 0.1.9 — clearer evidence and recovery

Choose a tag to compare

@Ddupasquier Ddupasquier released this 18 Oct 01:58
c2fc8e5

Rehearsal for VS Code 0.1.9 — technical preview

This GitHub technical preview improves update guidance, configuration recovery and
the clarity of comparison and activity views. It is not a Marketplace or paid launch.

Changes

  • Consent-based update reminders and clear configuration recovery from the accepted
0.1.8 source, plus its existing public-contract integration.
  • Comparison controls explain loading, unavailable evidence and single-generation
limits. Valid comparisons begin with distinct entries; same-entry selection clears
old facts rather than implying a verified change.
  • Candidate hashes retain exact casing. Activity distinguishes idle, busy, unsafe and
unavailable state with truthful text and indicators.
  • Packages explicitly allow only public runtime files. The pre-install verifier rejects
unexpected or duplicate paths without displaying private filenames.

Exact artifact and verification

rehearsal-0.1.9.vsix
SHA-256: c95d7e87033c5efb670d242733a772ad006e7db2c5cbac71838ca48f0e59047a
Bytes: 214073
Archive entries: 56 (44 compiled runtime modules)

The final maintained check passed 802 tests across 47 files, typechecking, build,
controller initialization and formatting on Node 24.21.0. The exact artifact passed
isolated clean install/uninstall, upgrade from official 0.1.7, and rollback to 0.1.7.
Current-core Lab metadata inspection passed against the accepted rc.8 artifact.
Focused rendered Chrome checks cover comparison/activity behavior and widths of
300/900/1440 CSS pixels.

Core compatibility floor remains 0.1.0-rc.4; the paired inspected core is rc.8 SHA-256
525c63e8fa874e4a8851775179cd7666ef3516bc02b4a4bc72d556663679b326.
The extension invokes project-local public CLI contracts; it does not replace the
database engine or grant credentials.

Limitations and terms

A full native walkthrough remains pending before official launch. Browser rendering
and CLI installation do not prove native dialogs, keyboard/focus, screen-reader
behavior or offline activation. Existing preview LICENSE, privacy and support terms
are unchanged. This release adds no billing, telemetry or paywall.

Rehearsal for VS Code 0.1.7 — verified workbench reviews

Choose a tag to compare

@Ddupasquier Ddupasquier released this 17 Oct 22:23
3b51cbd

Safer, clearer project reviews

  • Search, filter and sort migrations without changing the exact dependency-safe set Rehearsal applies.
  • Review application endpoints, configuration and baseline scope against consistent, target-specific evidence.
  • Refuse contradictory provider or snapshot state instead of guessing.
  • Exercise the packaged dashboard controller and independent Test Lab review scenarios.

This is a technical preview, distributed as a VSIX. It is not a Marketplace, paid-product or stable-release launch. The core npm package remains @rehearsal-db/core@0.1.0-rc.7; this release does not republish it.

Install or update

Download rehearsal-0.1.7.vsix, then in VS Code choose Extensions → … → Install from VSIX…. Reload the window if VS Code requests it.

SHA-256:

a624ee0ad469ab9e0842922e3c9cf7e94bd3cc8b1d3e2952b459a56ce2a03b86

The attached file is the original accepted artifact, not a rebuild. The previous 0.1.6 release remains available for rollback.

Verification and limits

The exact source passed 625 tests on each of Node 22, 24 and 26, type/build/controller/format checks, security audit, and isolated 0.1.6-to-0.1.7 installation. Paired installed-core checks cover reviewed proposals, baseline scope and exact safe refusals. See the source PR and paired Test Lab changes for the CI record.

Current-candidate spoken screen-reader/native accessibility, genuine provider authentication and a complete fresh consumer workflow remain separate acceptance tasks. Synthetic checks are not represented as those observations; this release does not waive the core stability gates.
