MALT Core v0.0.9-rc.7
Pre-releaseMALT Core v0.0.9-rc.7 fixes iterator lifetime and strict authentication JSON decoding, reduces repeated range-proof work, and removes unused pre-beta helpers.
Changes
arcset.ToPathMapcloses its iterator on success and every error path.- Authentication decoders enforce the existing schemas' required fields, nullability, and byte/array shapes. Required arrays must be present as arrays even when empty. Schema-to-Go annotation checks guard against drift.
- A binding or range query reads each touched node once, prepares its opening material once when supported, and reuses only locally verified index evidence. Returned evidence owns its buffers; later queries check their own materializer. An eight-segment single-node range needs one node read and one preparation instead of nine reads and seventeen preparations.
- The reference in-memory ArcSet store retains snapshot and node-ownership capabilities, while its unused reachability GC and private reverse index are removed. SDK sessions retain immutable tree state and enforce their own limits.
Compatibility
Root V remains 0. Protocol/schema/profile identifiers and valid wire encodings are unchanged. Malformed JSON that previously omitted required evidence, used disallowed nulls, or supplied numeric arrays for bytes is now rejected. The matching runtime fixture corrections are merged in runtime #58.
This release removes unused exported helpers: commitment.CellFromCID, arcset.PayloadPath, Path.Segments, Path.HasPrefix, Path.Consume, encoded.RootIdentity, encoded.References, maltcid.CellReference, and memory Store RetainRoots, RootCount, and EntryCount. External callers of these pre-beta helpers must migrate; current workspace production callers do not use them.
Source and validation
Final merged source: afd54714ce0a019bf35c5c158ba09b48855db621 (Core #207). Its source tree matches the reviewed and validated PR head.
Passed full Go tests, 386 KZG/IPA tests, go vet, go build -buildvcs=false, whitespace checks, external consumer compilation of the supported public SDK packages, independent review, and CI. Cross-repository validation also ran the full runtime tests against the reviewed Core source.
Core publishes the Go module, protocol sources, and portable conformance corpus. Browser WASM builds and release assets belong to malt-ts, which adopts the exact published Core tag, commit, and module checksums.
This is an experimental prerelease. Verification remains relative to the caller-selected root and query. Candidate roots and materialization receipts are not portable state-transition proofs, publication attestations, freshness evidence, or client-trust promotion.
