Nimbus 1.0

The first public release of Nimbus — a native SoundCloud client for macOS 26 on Apple Silicon.
The build is signed but not notarised: on first launch macOS will refuse to open it, so go to
System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway once; updates open normally
after that.

Features

• Playback without the gap — streams SoundCloud's AAC over HLS with the next track warmed
  up in a standby deck, so a change of track lands in 20–34 ms instead of the second and a half
  a cold start takes; signed playlists that expire after five minutes are re-resolved mid-track,
  so long mixes play through
• A queue you can rearrange — the Playing Next panel reorders by drag, jumps and removes,
  and dims what has already played; shuffle works across a whole collection rather than the page
  you loaded, repeat covers all or one, and related tracks can autoplay when the queue runs out.

• The waveform, with its comments — track and set pages draw SoundCloud's waveform with
  commenters' faces on the second they wrote at; comments and their replies read in full, and
  you can post your own at the current timestamp
• Your whole library — Home with stations, recently played and discovery shelves, Feed,
  Likes as a list or a grid with filter and sort, Playlists, Albums, Stations, Following and
  History, plus artist pages laid out around the site's own header. Lists refresh on their own
  when they go stale, and ⌘R reloads on demand
• Likes, reposts and follows that write back — actions land on your SoundCloud account, and
  what you play is recorded in your SoundCloud history the way the web player records it
• Moves like a Mac app — back and forward with a swipe, the way Finder does; menus laid out
  as Music's with the shortcuts to match (⌘← / ⌘→, ⌘L, ⌥⌘U, ⌘F); Now Playing and the
  media keys; Liquid Glass throughout; lists that stay smooth however far you scroll and load
  the next page before you reach the end
• Instant search — results from everything you have already browsed appear as you type,
  while SoundCloud's own results load in
• Go+ and region-locked tracks marked, as on the site — locked tracks carry the site's
  badge and are kept out of the queue instead of failing when their turn comes
• A bug report that writes itself — Help → Report an Issue… opens an issue with the
  version, the system and a slice of the log already filled in
