@Deathspike Deathspike released this 21 Apr 18:17

Normalasser now extracts all ASS subtitles embedded within MKV video files. This enhancement is especially beneficial for multi-language files that may include multiple subtitles for the same language without clear metadata. Previous versions faced challenges with ambiguous subtitle tracks, potentially leading to incorrect extractions. Now, all subtitles are extracted and labeled, ensuring users can easily match the correct subtitles with their corresponding audio tracks. Additionally, this version has removed all dependencies on external packages, streamlining the integration of Normalasser with other software and reducing potential conflicts.

@Deathspike Deathspike released this 04 Feb 10:46

Replaces ass-compiler with minimal custom parser. Relying on a library which parses and rebuilds subtitle files proved to be too unreliable. There have been instances where the subtitle would be altered in a way that affected visual styles beyond what normalasser modifies. By replacing this library with a custom parser, which understand just enough to make necessary adjustments, normalasser now makes far more precise modifications without causing any additional side effects.

First release of normalasser! But this is just a continuation of normalize-ssa, modernized for current expectations. Static dependencies are removed, parsing will not overwrite subtitles without --force-mkv, file operations are atomic, webhooks for Radarr and Sonarr are added, and normalasser is available as an alpine-based docker image. And a normalization issue that could cause the wrong primary style to be selected has been fixed!
