What's new

  • More resource kinds: HPAs, PDBs, ReplicaSets, NetworkPolicies, ResourceQuotas, LimitRanges, PVs, StorageClasses, and a new Access Control section (ServiceAccounts, Roles, RoleBindings, ClusterRoles, ClusterRoleBindings), with links between related objects.
  • Scale Deployments, StatefulSets and ReplicaSets from a small dialog (also for several at once). Workloads managed by an HPA link to it instead.
  • Protected contexts: lock a context in the switcher (⌘K) to turn off deletes, scaling, redeploys and YAML saves there.
  • Debug shells: an ephemeral debug container on any pod, and a root shell on a node.
  • Logs: show only warnings or errors, load the last 5m/1h/24h, !exclude and /regex/ filters, and save to a file.
  • Notifications now come from Masthead itself; clicking one opens the Problems page.
  • Fewer false alarms: routine Flux DependencyNotReady blips no longer show as problems.
  • Deleting the object you're viewing now takes you back; double clicks don't send an action twice.

Install

  1. Download Masthead-macos-arm64.dmg below (Apple Silicon, macOS 13+), open it and drag Masthead onto Applications.
  2. Open Masthead. macOS says "Masthead" Not Opened, because the app isn't notarized by Apple. Click Done, not "Move to Bin".
  3. Open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down to "Masthead" was blocked… and click Open Anyway, then confirm.

Or skip steps 2–3 with one Terminal command: xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Masthead.app

This is only needed once: Masthead updates itself from then on (the Update button bottom right, or Masthead → Check for Updates…).

Already installed? Update from inside the app; the .zip is what the updater downloads.
