Hello, I have had some trouble with loading a DeepLabCut project. I recently downloaded DeepLabCut using the conda installation instructions.

I am able to get the GUI open and add in the parameters to create a project. However, once I load the project using the generated config.yaml file, I run into an error with two boxes popping up, one that just says, “Weight Initialization” and another with a dropdown menu saying, “Transfer Learning - ImageNet”. The console shows the following error: line 628, in fetch_value raise ScannerError(ruamel.yaml.scaner.ScannerError: mapping values are not allowed here).

I encountered the same issue, with the error message: "ruamel.yaml.scanner.ScannerError: mapping values are not allowed here". After checking some resources, I found that Windows systems use a single backslash: \ , but in YAML, backslashes are escape characters that need to be replaced with \ or /. However, the problem still persists even after I made this change, and I’m not sure if it’s still related to the Windows system.

I changed the length of my input video file name (which was quite long) to just four characters ("Test") and since then, loading the project has worked for me

Indeed, as @change-sun pointed out, your configuration seems to not adhere to valid yaml specification (e.g. unintended escape characters (starting with a single backslash \ ), semicolons or spaces or very long filenames).
