Welcome to Edge-Drop v0.1.3. This update introduces a major multi-display architecture overhaul — featuring a unified single-source display selection engine, real-time System Tray menu synchronization, automatic OS disconnect recovery, and brief visual confirmation pop-ups — alongside user-facing controls for animation performance and universal preview flyout click-to-paste.

Key Features in this Release

1. Multi-Display Architecture & Real-Time Synchronization

  • Single-Source Display Engine (getDisplayListOptions): Unified monitor listing and selection state across both the Application Settings menu and the System Tray context menu into a single source of truth (getActiveDisplayId), eliminating state discrepancies between UI options and system tray checkmarks.
  • Real-Time System Tray Sync: System tray context menu radio checkmarks and display labels now automatically rebuild and update in real time whenever monitor settings change or displays are attached/detached.
  • Automatic OS Disconnect Recovery: When a secondary display hosting the panel is disconnected, Edge-Drop auto-heals its target back to the Primary Display and explicitly re-asserts window visibility (showInactive) and top-most status (alwaysOnTop), preventing Windows OS topology minimization from hiding the edge hot zone.
  • Brief Visual Confirmation Pop-Ups (popUpAndRetract): The clipboard panel now automatically pops open for 1.5 seconds to visually confirm its position whenever a monitor is detached/attached, auto-healed, or when alignment (Left/Right) or display selection (Primary/Display 2) is changed.

2. Preview Flyout, Hover Calibration & Universal Click-to-Paste

  • Universal Click-to-Paste: Clicking any text snippet, image thumbnail, or file tile inside an open Preview Flyout now instantly pastes that item into active desktop applications, protected by a shared double-click debounce guard (tryPaste.ts).
  • Dynamic Height & Hover Calibration: Attached a ResizeObserver to .preview-flyout to continuously calibrate hover boundary tracking (insideY), ensuring hovering in empty space outside thin preview cards retracts cleanly.
  • Staggered Panel & Preview Exit Timing: When closing while a preview flyout is open, the preview flyout dismisses first (with a 240ms delay) before collapsing the main clipboard shelf, eliminating layout animation collisions.

3. Animation Controls & Stability Enhancements

  • Animation Performance Controls: Added independent settings under Animations for springy overshoot scale pop (bounceAnimation) and background filter blurring (blurAnimation), allowing users to fine-tune visual flair vs. compositor performance.
  • Vite HMR Fiber Reconciliation: Refactored useEdgeHover.ts to query state directly during cursor polling, preventing getSnapshot errors during React hot module reloads.
  • Sanitized Offline Update Checks: Added a 5-second timeout (AbortSignal.timeout) and single-line logging to IPC update checks, eliminating terminal stack traces when offline or unreachable.

Installation Instructions

  1. Download Edge-Drop Setup 0.1.3.exe from the Assets section below.
  2. Run Edge-Drop Setup 0.1.3.exe to install or upgrade.
  3. The app will launch silently in the background. Move your mouse cursor to your configured screen edge to slide open the clipboard shelf!
