Getting Started

To experience WordyStart, simply visit WordyStart and explore the daily word and question. You can also use the convenient buttons to quickly access the Word of the Day and Question of the Day.

Technologies Used

Bootstrap: Stylish and responsive design for an optimal user experience.

jQuery: Sending a request to the server and receiving a response.

HTML and CSS: The foundation of the web application.

Express.js: A minimal and flexible Node.js web application framework.

Gemini API: Generates a random word of the day, theme and question of the day.

Mongo DB: A NoSQL database that stores the daily word and question.

About

WordyStart was a one day project.

To use the app locally, follow the steps below:

  1. Clone the repository.
  2. Run npm install to install the required dependencies.
  3. Run npm start to start the server.
  4. Have mongodb installed and running on your local machine.
  5. Get a google api key from here https://makersuite.google.com/app/apikey and replace the key in the .env file.
  6. Open your browser and navigate to http://localhost:3000/ to use the app.
