TerraFirmaScout 1.0.1 for Minecraft 1.21.1 (NeoForge). A small update to 1.0.0.

What is new:

  • Search boxes in Pick your world. Every tab has a Search box that filters the resources, biomes, rocks, forest types and limits as you type.
  • Faster copper vein and tin checks. Scout now looks for the small loose ore TFC leaves on the surface above a vein (it sits up to 35 blocks above it) and checks the ground below it first. A chunk without a sample is still scanned in full, so the results do not change. Only checks that find the ore are faster, so a seed with no tin takes as long as before. Results show "Surface sample ... ore found N blocks below it".
  • Translation groundwork. The text on the world-creation, options, results, saved-seed, note and Pick your world screens now comes from a language file (assets/terrafirmascout/lang/en_us.json). Preset and check names, the evidence text and status messages are still English. TRANSLATING.md in the repository explains how to add a language.

Everything from 1.0.0 is included. Saved seeds, results and wishlists from earlier versions still load.

Requires Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1.234+, TFC 4.2.11 and Java 21. Replace older Scout jars and restart Minecraft. The 1.20.1 / Forge build is the separate v1.0.1-1.20.1 release.

Tested (9 October 2026): 41 unit tests, and a development-client run with real seeds. In that run River, Lake, Coast, Crops and Animals each confirmed 8 of 8 seeds, Farmland 2 of 8, copper vein 8 of 8 (2 through a surface sample) and tin 1 of 8 (1 through a sample; tin is rare). The search boxes were built and displayed in that run but not clicked by hand. The 1.0.1 jar was installed in a real Prism instance; launching it there was not part of my test. Known limits: dedicated servers, very slow computers and large modpacks are untested, and a very specific request can take a long time or find no match.

The creator has a learning disability and builds this mod with AI assistance (Claude and Codex) for learning and support. Licence: EUPL-1.2.
