👑 Boss Chickens Guide

Boss Chickens are the ultimate challenge in Chaos Chickens. They represent the apex of randomized chaos and will test even fully-geared players.

👹 Boss Specifications

• Appearance: Spawns with a bold dark red custom tag: BOSS Chicken and displays a red "☠ BOSS Chicken ☠" boss bar to all players within a 32-block radius.
• Rotating Particle Aura: Emits a dynamic rotating ring of purple portal particles, witch spell sparks, and soul fire flames.
• Health Pool: Has a massive 12.0 HP (3x the default chicken health of 4.0 HP).
• Weakness Aura: Emits an oppressive aura that inflicts WEAKNESS I on any player within a 16-block radius (refreshed every 2 seconds). This drastically decreases your melee damage, making it extremely difficult to defeat them quickly with swords!
• Ender Dragon Growl (Reactive Audio): Plays an Ender Dragon growl sound reactively when damaged and stands its ground (will not teleport on hit, even if it possesses the Teleport sub-trait).
• Wither Telekinesis Attack: Every 3 seconds (60 ticks), the Boss targets a nearby player, pulls a solid block from the ground under them, and launches it as a falling block projectile (playing the Wither shoot sound and explosion particles).
• Lightning Strike Attack: Every 6 seconds (120 ticks), it strikes random lightning around its targets when a player is in range.
• Guaranteed Loot: Guaranteed to drop 1 Nether Star and 2–4 (or 2-3) Diamonds on death.
• Secure Advancement: Grants the "The Golden Cluck" challenge advancement. If the Boss Chicken is killed (even by command or environmental damage), the advancement is securely granted to the nearest player within 32 blocks.
• Ultimate Death Explosion: When slain, it triggers a massive visual explosion accompanied by a rotating ring of 36 soul fire flames and witch sparks, playing a generic explosion sound and a Wither death sound.

⚡ Multi-Trait Combination

What makes a Boss Chicken truly terrifying is that they inherit multiple chaos traits simultaneously! When a Boss Chicken spawns, it rolls the global trait pool up to 3 times (configurable via boss-trait-count / bossTraitCount) and combines their effects:

• Example combination: Speed + Explosive + Cursed
  • You face a lightning-fast chicken that you cannot easily hit.
  • If you get close, you are blinded and poisoned by the curse.
  • When you finally kill it, it detonates right in your face!
• Example combination: Golden + Teleport + Ice
  • A glowing golden chicken that creates frozen ice walkways.
  • Every time you attempt to hit it to get the diamonds/emeralds, it teleports 10 blocks away!

⚔️ Combat Strategies

1. Ranged Attacks: Since the Weakness Aura completely ruins your sword damage within 16 blocks, using a Bow or Crossbow is highly recommended to take down a Boss Chicken from a safe distance.
2. Water Buckets: A water bucket can be useful to slow down speed-boosted boss chickens, although watch out if they have the Ice trait, as they will freeze your water source!
3. Piston Traps: Using pistons or leads to trap the boss chicken allows you to easily harvest them or keep them as high-value decorations/defenders.
