GE-Proton11-7-LMU-1.4.3-v7

Choose a tag to compare

Organised the LMU patches to keep myself right going forward. Based on GE-Proton11-7.

  1. Online communication — @schlegp’s bcrypt fix, included in @JacKeTUs’s build and adapted for GE-Proton11-7. Added checks for overflowing buffer sizes and missing input data.

  2. HUD rendering — @JacKeTUs’s Direct2D work for Tint, sprites and layers, with our masked-layer changes for the circular rev, brake and throttle gauges.

  3. VR cursor — @srounce’s CUR/ICO loading workaround, adapted for GE-Proton11-7.

  4. Direct2D follow-up fixes — Changes to @JacKeTUs’s implementation: fix resource leaks when reusing layers, keep masks and brushes alive while needed, apply layer bounds and handle geometry-only and opacity-only masks. Limit the Tint shortcut to Tint effects, add working colour properties and honour output clamping.

  5. Image-loading follow-up fixes — Changes to @srounce’s workaround: check image sizes and offsets, correct padded 24-bit rows and handle cursor transparency masks when there is no usable alpha channel. Ordinary BMP files use Wine’s normal loading path.

  6. Wheel reconnection — @JacKeTUs’s hotplug fix, adapted for this base. LMU can recognise the wheel again after unplugging and reconnecting it.

The existing LMU Protonfix selects the patched built-in d3dx11_43.dll.

GE-Proton11-7-LMU-1.4-v5

Rebased onto GE-Proton11-7 with the same LMU fixes as v4.

This release fixes the circular rev, brake and throttle gauges. The fix uses FillGeometry() when the layer is popped, with the off-screen bitmap as the colour brush and the gauge texture as the opacity brush. Both masks are mapped against the transform saved when the layer was pushed, so everything lines up correctly.

The CUR/ICO texture-loading workaround from @srounce remains included, forward-ported to the Proton 11 Wine tree, with thanks also to @JacKeTUs for the original LMU work. The existing Direct2D, Tint and bcrypt fixes are also included.

This build compiles that workaround into d3dx11_43.dll and forces LMU to use Wine’s patched built-in DLL rather than the native DirectX copy.

SteamVR users: replace openvr_api.dll in the LMU installation directory with the DLL attached below; it is required for SteamVR/OpenComposite mode but is not expected to be needed when launching through OpenXR.

Archive re-uploaded with the fixes described below.
