Windows: please install this one by hand, once. Updates in earlier builds downloaded but never installed, so Clutch can't update itself to this version. Download Clutch-0.4.0-beta.3-x64.msi below and run it; your scenes, settings and stream keys stay. From this build on, updates install by themselves again.

After installing, connect Twitch and Kick again (Settings → Stream → Disconnect, then Connect). Clutch now needs permission to change your stream title and category there.

This build is about going live and the chat.

  • Go live window: before your stream starts, Clutch shows the title and category for each connected platform (YouTube, Twitch, Kick), and for YouTube which broadcast to use or a new one. Clutch saves them on each platform and then starts the video. Turn off "Ask before going live" to go straight to live with your last details.
  • Start on one platform: Start next to a destination opens the window for that platform only and goes live there alone.
  • Category search: type part of a game's name and pick it from the list, with its box art.
  • Emotes in the chat: Twitch and Kick emotes, and 7TV, BetterTTV and FrankerFaceZ emotes, show as pictures, animated ones included. Switches are in Settings → Appearance → Chat.
  • Game capture audio: new Game capture sources start with their audio off. If you already capture desktop or app audio, Clutch asks once whether to turn it on, so the game isn't heard twice.

Fixes:

  • Updates now install, both when you close Clutch and with "Restart to update".
  • Auto clips from game audio happen far less often (at most one every 45 seconds, and only for a real spike).
  • Start in the destinations list sometimes needed two or three clicks.
  • YouTube: going live on a broadcast with ultra-low latency failed with "Latency preference not supported", and some broadcasts failed with "The request metadata is invalid".
  • After Cancel in the Go live window, Start did nothing until the mouse moved.

Windows 10/11: Clutch-0.4.0-beta.3-x64.msi. Linux stays on 0.4.0 beta 2 for now.

Already have 0.3.5 beta 4 or 0.4.0 beta 1? Don't download this one. Clutch updates itself: it downloads the update in the background and installs it when you close Clutch, or right away with "Restart to update" in Settings → Updates. Only if you're on 0.3.4 or older do you need to install this one by hand, once.

This build is about going live on YouTube.

  • Going live again works right away: YouTube ends each broadcast when you stop streaming, and only makes the next one when you open Studio's Stream page. If there's no broadcast waiting when you go live, Clutch now makes one with the same title and privacy as your last stream and starts it. If you stop before it goes live, Clutch deletes it again, so no stray "Upcoming" stream is left on your channel.
  • The right stream key: if your YouTube broadcast uses a different stream key than the one in Clutch, Clutch switches to it by itself before you're live, or offers a button once you are. Connecting an account in Settings → Stream also fills in the key for destinations that don't have one yet.

Fixes:

  • On channels with many past streams, Clutch no longer says no broadcast uses your stream key while one does.

Windows 10/11: Clutch-0.4.0-beta.2-x64.msi. Linux (x86_64): Clutch-0.4.0-beta.2-x86_64.AppImage, then chmod +x.

Already on 0.3.5 beta 4? You don't need to download anything. Clutch updates itself: it installs when you close Clutch, or right away with "Restart to update". On an older beta, install this one by hand once.

New in this build:

  • One chat for every platform: Twitch, YouTube and Kick messages in one list, each with its platform badge. Reply from the box underneath, to every platform at once or just one. Each platform's own chat page is still under Pages.
  • Follows, subs and more in the chat: follows, subs, gifted subs, cheers and raids on Twitch; follows, subs, gifts and Kicks on Kick; Super Chats and memberships on YouTube. They show highlighted with a short chime (the speaker button turns it off).
  • Connect Kick in Settings → Stream to reply and get Kick events.
  • Get stream key fills in the server and key from your connected YouTube, Twitch or Kick account, so no more copying keys.
  • Is YouTube live? While streaming, Clutch tells you what YouTube is doing: live, starting, or waiting for you to start the broadcast (with a Start broadcast button).
  • About in Settings, and the version at the bottom right.

Fixes:

  • A webcam used by two sources no longer freezes or shows "Camera disconnected" on Windows 10.
  • A Kick destination set up as a custom server is recognised as Kick.

After updating, connect Twitch and YouTube again in Settings → Stream (they need new permissions), and connect Kick there too.

Windows 10/11: Clutch-0.4.0-beta.1-x64.msi. Linux (x86_64): Clutch-0.4.0-beta.1-x86_64.AppImage, then chmod +x.

This is the last version you need to install by hand. From here on Clutch updates itself (see Updates below).

New in this build:

  • Music: a new source that plays Creative Commons music from Jamendo by genre or your own tags. It has its own sound knob, a playlist you can click through, Previous, Next and Repeat. "Safe for monetized streams" (on by default) only plays tracks that allow commercial use, and every track's credit is shown and written to a file you can put on screen with a Text source.
  • Interactive browser sources: turn on Interactive in a browser source's settings to click, scroll and type in the page right in the preview. Hold Alt to move it.
  • Performance: Settings → Performance has Gaming, Balanced and Quality profiles, and "Optimize for this PC" picks one for your hardware and shows every change before applying it. If your game stutters while recording, Clutch offers a lighter profile.
  • Updates: Settings → Updates. By default new versions download in the background and install when you close Clutch, or right away with "Restart to update". You can also choose to just be told, or turn checks off.

Fixes:

  • The rename, duplicate and delete buttons on scene cards no longer flicker.
  • Every Settings page scrolls all the way to the bottom.

Windows 10/11: download Clutch-0.3.5-beta.4-x64.msi and run it; it upgrades your current Clutch. SmartScreen may warn because the build isn't signed yet: click More info → Run anyway.

Linux (x86_64): download Clutch-0.3.5-beta.4-x86_64.AppImage, run chmod +x on it, then start it.

New in this build:

  • Settings in pages: Stream, Recording, Clips, Virtual camera, Remote control and Appearance each have their own page instead of one long list.
  • Mute is now a double-click on a sound knob, so grabbing a knob to change the volume can't mute it by accident. Ctrl+click resets the volume to 0 dB.
  • Clutch shows up in Windows search: the installer now adds the Start menu shortcut by default (the desktop shortcut is still optional).

Windows 10/11: download Clutch-0.3.4-x64.msi and run it; it upgrades the previous beta in place. SmartScreen may warn because the build isn't signed yet: click More info → Run anyway.

Linux (x86_64): download Clutch-0.3.4-x86_64.AppImage, run chmod +x Clutch-0.3.4-x86_64.AppImage, then start it.

First test build of Clutch. Thanks for trying it!

Windows 10/11: download Clutch-0.3.3-x64.msi and run it. The installer isn't signed yet, so SmartScreen may warn you: click More info → Run anyway.

Linux (x86_64): download Clutch-0.3.3-x86_64.AppImage, run chmod +x Clutch-0.3.3-x86_64.AppImage, then start it. Linux support is brand new, so expect rough edges there.
