🚀 What's New
This release introduces a dedicated benchmarking subsystem and build automation tools to verify SerDeLite's performance on modern hardware. While the core serialization logic remains stable, the project structure has been enhanced to support professional-grade profiling.
📊 Verified Performance Metrics
Benchmarks conducted on Intel® Core™ i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz (MSI High-Performance Mode):
- Simple Numeric: 17.63 Million objects/sec (56.7 ns/obj)
- Physics Data (Vec3): 14.61 Million objects/sec (68.4 ns/obj)
- Nested Player Profile: 4.05 Million objects/sec (246.5 ns/obj)
- Complex World State: 1.43 Million objects/sec (699.3 ns/obj)
🛠️ Key Improvements
- New Benchmarking Suite: Added 4 modular test cases in
tests/benchmarks/covering various data complexities. - Build Automation: Added
benchmark_win.batfor one-click compilation and execution on Windows. - Artifact Management: Integrated a root
/builddirectory to keep source folders clean of executables. - Technical Docs: Added comprehensive
README.mdwithin the benchmarks folder detailing methodology and cache optimization strategies.
