FS Camera Studio 0.3.0

Download FS-Camera-Studio-0.3.0-Setup.exe, close MSFS, and run setup over the existing installation. Saved
profiles, airport libraries, bindings and settings are preserved. Existing installations can discover this
release through Settings > Saving & updates > Check for updates. The tester ZIP also includes the
illustrated manual, guide, build information and checksums.

Changes

  • Clearer camera library: distinct category headers and indented, compact camera rows, aligned counts/actions,
inline shortcut badges and a separate active-camera indicator. The mini panel remains a wide bottom dock and
shows starred cameras only. Main-panel category and camera names always remain visible.
  • Two bindings per action: independent Primary and Secondary slots support keyboard and controller inputs
together. Replacing or clearing one preserves the other. Conflicts offer replacement, the footer stays visible,
and badges show the actual assignment.
  • Controller capture: select the controller from a visible in-panel list, then listen for a button or hat
direction. Button release or returning the hat to center completes capture. The hat-release subscription fix
prevents a hat input from leaving capture stuck and blocking subsequent buttons. Mapping failures report an
error and diagnostic detail; manual button/hat testing remains available.
  • Global airport defaults: tracking mode, distant-target horizon protection, auto zoom with framing size,
FOV limits and response time, plus heights for runway, gate, apron, taxi and tower categories. Each airport
camera can override settings separately or return to inherited defaults.
  • Terrain-aware framing: tracking and auto zoom use the camera's reported world altitude after simulator
terrain-floor correction. Optional horizon protection levels distant lower targets while retaining heading.
Saved placement remains separate from readback correction.
  • Use a profile with any aircraft: Copy for current aircraft creates a separately matched copy of a saved or
imported profile. Source profiles and shared airport views remain intact; adjust positions for the destination
    cockpit geometry.
  • Editor polish: reorganized global controls and Settings, clearer inherited values, compact context menus,
responsive binding dialogs, and distinct aircraft/profile and airport-library scopes.
  • Updated documentation, screenshots and illustrated manual for 0.3.0.

Existing features include shared airport libraries, global Auto switch, head tracking off by default, heading
and pitch tracking on by default for eligible views, orbit/animated fly-by/walkaround, profile file-folder import,
copy/paste camera settings, hold-to-adjust controls, independent panel opacity and native save confirmation chime.

Validation and limitations

The release passed 191 native tests and 7,004 checks, 42 UI test files, and nine isolated installer
scenarios
. The shipping installer also refused to replace a package while MSFS was running. Release
build/package evidence is recorded in
the 0.3.0 verification record.
Browser checks verify UI behavior in a test environment; they do not prove physical controller or live flight behavior.

The latest T.16000M hat-release correction still needs a physical-controller retest. Capture a hat, then
listen for a normal button, and confirm a saved hat movement binding stops on centering. Live scenery tracking,
opacity and audible save feedback also require simulator verification. Horizon protection does not remove
terrain/building occlusion. Exterior views can retain cockpit audio. Starter and copied profiles may require
position adjustment. The simulator panel uses the imports folder or pasted code because it cannot open a native
Windows file picker. The Windows installer is unsigned.

FS Camera Studio 0.2.0

Download FS-Camera-Studio-0.2.0-Setup.exe, close MSFS, and run setup over the existing installation. Saved profiles, airport cameras, bindings and settings are preserved. Existing tester builds can find this release through Settings > Check for updates.

Changes

  • Independent main and mini background opacity from 0 to 100%, with native simulator blur disabled; larger mini category buttons, simple SVG icons and feature-specific airport icons. The main editor always shows icons and labels.
  • Compact camera context, mouse-look, walkaround and delete dialogs; copy/paste camera settings; hold position buttons to adjust repeatedly, with stop on release or focus loss.
  • Global head tracking defaults off; global aircraft tracking defaults to heading and pitch for airport and exterior views. Camera and profile changes preserve these choices; cockpit views never track aircraft.
  • Global airport auto-switch with active-camera highlighting. Improved camera movement, key release handling and temporary-look behavior.
  • Airport libraries are shared by all aircraft and work without an aircraft profile. Airport edits survive aircraft-profile changes. Regeneration can replace existing generated views and discard that airport's edits after a warning, preserving other airports and aircraft views.
  • Library + > External motion views adds orbit, an animated fly-by pass that works while parked, and a six-view walkaround. Each mode has its own controls. Fly-by supports pass distance, height, side offset, duration and optional back-and-forth repetition; walkaround supports timed advancement and looping.
  • Import profile JSON files through the displayed imports folder: add files in Explorer, Refresh, select and Import. Pasted profile code remains available. Export lets you choose a saved profile.
  • A320 starter profiles, updated default icons and an estimated tower fallback when scenery lacks a usable tower position.
  • Save confirmation uses the simulator's supported UI chime, with a Test sound control. Spoken recording is available only in the browser preview.
  • Faster saves skip unchanged disk writes and avoid reparsing the complete library and rewriting every profile export. Changed saves still write and verify the recovery store.
  • Updated illustrated manual and Cessna 152 import-test profile.

Validation and limitations

162 native tests and 6,378 checks passed. Packaged browser tests cover global tracking and airport libraries, regeneration confirmation, animated fly-by controls, compact dialogs, opacity, icons, repeated adjustment, imports/exports, update detection and save-feedback routing. The release module is compiled with MSFS SDK 1.7.3.

Live flight verification of this complete release is still pending. Please test motion views, transparency, folder enumeration and sound in your simulator. Exterior views currently retain cockpit audio; A320 starter framing needs adjustment for each aircraft variant. The panel cannot open a native Windows file picker. Estimated tower cameras should be repositioned to the actual tower.

The Windows installer is unsigned. The tester bundle includes the PDF manual, guide, build information and checksums.

What's changed

  • Full-width, shorter mini panel with visible category groups and scrolling camera lists.
  • Cleaner main header, tooltips throughout both panels, and corrected mini background opacity and extra backdrop.
  • Icons, labels and both display choices apply only to categories; camera names and icons remain visible.
  • Global Auto switch selects the nearest camera in the loaded airport camera set, including from cockpit views. Newly generated airport cameras track aircraft heading and pitch by default.
  • Q/E altitude and left/right Shift speed-boost handling improved for airport cameras, preserving custom assignments.
  • Bindings start collapsed and the expand/collapse label reflects the visible groups.
  • Export profile now lists saved profiles and offers the current edited copy separately. Import now waits for the simulator's asynchronous save and reports completion correctly.
  • Included 12-view A320 starters for default/iniBuilds A320neo, FlyByWire A32NX and Fenix A320. Each uses the aircraft's own pilot eyepoint and separate saved profile. Existing profiles are preserved.

Install or update

Download FS-Camera-Studio-0.1.1-test.20261011.4-Setup.exe, close MSFS, then run setup. Saved camera profiles are preserved. Existing tester installations can find this release under Settings → Check for updates.

The ZIP includes the same installer, illustrated PDF manual, tester guide and checksums. The Windows installer is unsigned.

Validation and testing

128 native tests / 5,774 checks and packaged UI regression checks passed, including profile import/export round trips. The SDK module compiled successfully. This remains a tester prerelease: verify mouse interaction, Q/E/Shift, panel transparency and airport tracking in MSFS. A320 views are starter framings; instrument closeups may need adjustment for individual aircraft models.

@Devinci297 Devinci297 released this 11 Oct 14:18

FS Camera Studio 0.1.1-test.20261011.2

This tester update addresses airport tracking and zoom, scenery stand names, and mini-panel layout.

Changes

  • Airport cameras can target the user aircraft while keeping their world position fixed. Heading-only tracking keeps the latest aircraft position through telemetry gaps; right-drag temporarily overrides tracking.
  • Corrected overlapping simulator zoom-event subscriptions that could cancel or double mouse-wheel zoom.
  • Camera directions are configured automatically. The manual axis-check controls and their subjective corrections have been removed.
  • Reduced the mini panel from 164 to 120 pixels high, with independently scrolling camera/category lists. Tracking choices open above the dock with clearer labels and selected states.
  • Generated stand names now include scenery gate letters, numbers, suffixes and directional parking names. Different suffixed stands remain separate; vehicle-only positions are excluded.
  • Updated the illustrated manual and tester guide.

Install or update

From the previous tester build, click the version in the app bar or open Settings > Version & updates, then Check for updates and download the installer. Close MSFS before running setup. Saved profiles are preserved.

Alternatively, download Setup.exe below. Testers.zip includes setup, the illustrated manual, quick guide, build information and checksums. Keep only one active package; setup refuses linked package folders managed by Addons Linker/development tools.

Existing saved airport cameras are not silently renamed. Generate a new preview to inspect the corrected scenery names. Preserving existing views keeps custom names and poses; replacing generated views replaces those edits.

Verification and testing

119 native tests / 5,427 checks passed. SDK Release compilation and packaged airport, flight-controls and updater browser checks passed. The shipping installer passed nine isolated lifecycle scenarios; its 22 package files match the verified candidate. All ten manual pages were rendered and reviewed.

This is an unsigned prerelease. The new airport tracking, zoom and stand-name behavior still needs live MSFS testing. Scenery facility names may differ from painted signage; missing scenery metadata cannot be inferred. Please report the full build ID, aircraft, airport/scenery and exact reproduction steps.

@Devinci297 Devinci297 released this 11 Oct 13:13

FS Camera Studio 0.1.1 tester release

Camera Studio now includes an offline Windows installer, an illustrated ten-page manual, version information in
the app bar, and update detection with an installer-download handoff from Settings.

Included

  • Camera editing with direct names, icons/colors, category defaults, compact direction controls and orientation arcs.
  • Smooth right-drag mouse look, sensitivity/smoothing controls, per-camera release/recall policies, view-relative
WASD movement, Q/E height, Shift speed boost, scroll zoom, configurable bindings and Ctrl+S Save views.
  • Scenery-based airport camera generation from Camera library +, editable world views, aircraft tracking options,
nearby saved-airport loading, optional automatic viewpoint switching and a bounded scrolling mini panel.
  • Camera binding slots beyond the previous 20-view limit and per-camera simulator head-tracking controls.
  • Nearby airport discovery requests the scenery ICAO field instead of treating a short list identifier as final.
This targets the reported MCO/KMCO display problem without renaming saved profiles.
  • Per-user setup with Community-folder detection, package backups, repair/uninstall and running-simulator protection.

Downloads

Use Testers.zip for the installer, illustrated PDF manual, quick guide, build information, notices and checksums.
The setup EXE and PDF are also attached separately. Close MSFS before installation. Existing saved profiles are
preserved. Keep only one active package; setup refuses linked package folders managed by Addons Linker/development tools.

Verification and limits

117 native tests / 5401 checks passed. Packaged updater, airport generator and flight-controls UI checks passed.
The actual shipping installer passed nine isolated lifecycle scenarios. All ten PDF pages were rendered and reviewed.

This is an unsigned prerelease for testers. Live flight loading, scenery elevations, physical head tracking,
the nearest-airport ICAO response and MSFS update browser handoff still need in-simulator confirmation.
The release preserves the known-loading toolbar host; broader development host changes are not silently substituted.
Updates download through the browser; installation is performed by setup after MSFS is closed.

When reporting an issue, include the full build ID, MSFS version, aircraft, airport/scenery, exact steps and whether
it happens with the editor/mini panel hidden or after Release camera.
