1. Execution Mode Configuration

To communicate with the Android telephony framework and change network modes, NetToggle requires elevated system privileges. You must configure your preferred execution mode based on your device setup: Root or Shizuku.

Option A: Root Mode (For Rooted Devices)

If your device is rooted using modern tools like KernelSU, APatch, or Magisk, this is the most seamless method.

Note: Modern Android root managers do not automatically display a popup prompt when an app requests root access.

  1. Navigate to the Superuser/Permissions tab within your root manager.
  2. In SuperUser Tab locate NetToggle in the list and manually Grant/Allow superuser access.
  3. Exit the root manager(KernelSU, APatch, or Magisk) app.
  4. Open NetToggle and navigate to the Execution Mode card.
  5. Select the Root tab from the segmented control.
  6. Verification: NetToggle should say Root mode active & authorized.

Option B: Shizuku Mode (For Non-Rooted Devices)

If your device is not rooted, you can use Shizuku, which utilizes Android's built-in wireless debugging (ADB) to securely grant the necessary permissions.

  1. Install the Shizuku app from the Play Store or GitHub.
  2. Set up and start the Shizuku service by following the Official Shizuku Setup Guide.
  3. Once Shizuku is actively running, open NetToggle and navigate to the Execution Mode card.
  4. Select the Shizuku tab.
  5. A Shizuku prompt will appear asking to "Allow" access. Tap Allow all the time.
  6. Verification: NetToggle should say Shizuku mode active & authorized.
