@dhivadhiva dhivadhiva released this 11 Oct 20:03

Bug-fix release. It is also the first version published to the Snap Store.

Fixed

  • Terminal: typing fast (about 50 ms per key or faster) could insert a character twice. The terminal now takes keys directly from the keyboard. As a result, input methods (IME) and dead-key compose sequences don't reach the built-in terminal; use Open in system terminal for those.

New

  • Snap: CrossShell is packaged as a strictly confined snap (crossshell, pending store review). The snap differs from the builds here:

    • It shows the commands for installing the SSH server and opening the firewall instead of running them.
    • It hides the system-terminal and VS Code launchers.
    • On GNOME, it uses the desktop portal, which asks once before the screen can be shared.

    These builds keep every feature. Details are in packaging/SNAP.md.

  • Remote start: paired machines can start a snap-installed agent remotely (/snap/bin/crossshell.host) and find its files in the snap's runtime directory.

  • Icon: the app has its own icon, on Linux and in the Windows executable.
