SimpleLauncher v1 – A Basic, Safe Windows Launcher for Kids

SimpleLauncher is a lightweight custom Windows shell designed to help children safely use a computer without accessing unwanted applications or features. It replaces the default Windows desktop with a simplified interface, allowing only approved shortcuts and eliminating the need for a Microsoft account by supporting local accounts only.

📁 Installation Instructions:
Extract the contents to the root of the C: drive (i.e., C:\SimpleLauncher).

Change the Windows shell by editing the registry:
Open regedit
Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Change the value of Shell from explorer.exe to: C:\SimpleLauncher\SimpleLauncher.exe

⚙️ Adding Shortcuts:
Edit the shortcut.ini file to define custom shortcuts. Example:

[Shortcut1]
FilePath="C:\Users\username\Desktop\Roblox.lnk"
X=100
Y=200

You can define multiple shortcuts using [Shortcut2], [Shortcut3], and so on.

Note: Be sure to keep a backup user account or recovery option, as changing the shell will override the standard Windows interface
