SimpleLauncher v1.2 – A Safe, Customizable Windows Shell for Kids

SimpleLauncher is a minimal, easy-to-use Windows shell replacement designed to let children safely use a computer with access only to approved applications. This version removes the need for a Microsoft account and offers basic customization options—all while giving administrators full control over what is accessible.

New in v1.2: Can now be installed to any folder—not just C:\

📁 Installation Instructions:
Extract SimpleLauncher to any desired folder, such as: C:\YourFolder\SimpleLauncher\

Set SimpleLauncher as the Windows shell:
Open Regedit
Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon
Set the Shell value to your launcher path, for example: C:\YourFolder\SimpleLauncher\SimpleLauncher.exe

⚙️ Adding Shortcuts:
Edit the shortcut.ini file to add and position app shortcuts. Example:

[Shortcut1]
FilePath="C:\Users\username\Desktop\Roblox.lnk"
X=100
Y=200

You can add more entries like [Shortcut2], [Shortcut3], etc.

🖼️ Custom Background:
To change the desktop background, replace the existing image file with your own: Background.jpg
Make sure your image file has the same name and is placed in the same folder as SimpleLauncher.exe.

⚠️ Important: Keep a backup user account or recovery option, as replacing the shell disables the standard Windows interface.
