v0.13.1
Media Chapter Browser 0.13.1 (beta)
Smarter identifying, a few things you can now do by hand, and a clearer
Detect Chapters. Everything since 0.12.0 (0.13.0 was never released on its
own).
Identifying
- The AI fixes MusicBrainz searches. When the file name's search finds
nothing that fits, Just Figure It Out (and Identify Library, with AI looks
at the video on) has the AI work out what the video is and search again by
the names MusicBrainz uses. It also picks which of several fitting releases
is this show. A release is still only used when its tracks add up to the
video. - Searches from file names no longer exclude their own release. A name
likeAWAKENS -THE SUN ALSO RISES-was read by MusicBrainz as "without
the", so the release was impossible to find. The characters it reads as
search syntax are now left out. - The AI's look at the video gets the release's tracklist. It names the
filler chapters ("Intro to …", the ending) against the real setlist. Where
it's certain, it can also correct a name the tracklist's lengths put on the
wrong chapter, such as an opening film counted as the first song. Names you
gave a video yourself are never changed. - Mark Named, on a video's right-click menu, says it's fine as it is: a
short music video, or one you've named by hand. It shows green as Marked
named, and Identify Library leaves it alone.
Detect Chapters
- The tab is now Extract Blu-ray Menu. DVDs aren't supported.
- A box at the top says what the video already has: chapters that only need
names, or one piece where the chapters have to be found too. - The Tracklist tab is three clear steps: get a tracklist (any one of three
ways), make the chapters from it, and optionally have the AI check. - Bigger by default, and it scrolls instead of squashing text together. The
MusicBrainz results list shows several releases at once.
Editing and playing
- Edit Tracklist: drag a name onto the chapter it belongs on. The
chapters stay put; only the names move. - Queue: right-click a row to play it as audio or as video.
- Choosing something to play while paused now plays it, rather than
needing a second click. - Show Video is also in the Playback menu (
Ctrl+Shift+V). Clicking
the cover or title of what's playing goes back to the video too.
Before you start
- Beta, no warranty. See the README and LICENSE (GPL-3.0-or-later).
- AI features cost money. They're off until you add an API key, and each
one shows roughly what it costs, but a large library adds up. Use a key
with a daily spending limit. - Needs from your system: ffmpeg, mpv and (for Blu-ray folders) libbluray.
