v0.14.0
DA Media Browser 0.14.0 (beta)
Media Chapter Browser has a new name, and the AI's API key now lives in your
system keyring instead of a settings file.
New name: DA Media Browser
-
The window, the menus, the desktop entry and the AppImage
(DAMediaBrowser-<version>-x86_64.AppImage) all use the new name. -
The repository is now
DigitalArchon/DAMediaBrowser.
The old address redirects to it. -
Your data has moved folders. The app now keeps its data in
~/.local/share/da-media-browser, so on first start it opens with an
empty library. To keep your libraries, names and covers, close the app
and move the old folder across before starting 0.14.0:mv ~/.local/share/media-chapter-browser ~/.local/share/da-media-browser
The API key is kept in the keyring
- The Nano-GPT key is stored in the system keyring (GNOME Keyring or
KWallet, or any other Secret Service provider), not insettings.jsonin
plain text. - Paste your key into File → AI Settings once more and press Save. A
key left in an oldsettings.jsonis no longer used, and saving removes
it from the file. - Without a keyring, AI Settings says so. You can set
NANOGPT_API_KEYin
the environment instead, as before.
Before you start
- Beta, no warranty. See the README and LICENSE (GPL-3.0-or-later).
- AI features cost money. They're off until you add an API key, and each
one shows roughly what it costs, but a large library adds up. Use a key
with a daily spending limit. - Needs from your system: ffmpeg, mpv and (for Blu-ray folders)
libbluray, plus a keyring if you use the AI features.
Download
DAMediaBrowser-0.14.0-x86_64.AppImage, for x86_64 Linux with glibc 2.34
or newer (Ubuntu 22.04, Debian 12, Fedora 35 and later).
The build is reproducible. To check that this file is exactly what the
source builds, run packaging/appimage/verify-reproducible.sh v0.14.0.
