DA Media Browser 0.18.0 (beta)

Just Figure It Out no longer mistakes one show for another just because the
lengths happen to match. You can now give it hints, and afterwards read a
report of what it did and why. Seeking on the bar always names the right
chapter, and Space plays and pauses.

Just Figure It Out

  • A release that came out before the show isn't taken for it.
A release that came out before every year a video's name mentions
is now handed to the AI to judge instead of being taken as certain.
  • Hints…, all optional: what the show is known as (searched on
MusicBrainz first), how many songs it has, and the setlist in order
(numbers and times are fine). A release must have that many songs and
most of the setlist's. The AI is told all of it, and its names must keep
the setlist's order: a song out of place, or one repeated, is left
    unnamed rather than named wrong.
  • For a broadcast or a cut of a show the setlist is what makes the
difference. The setlist the AI finds online is the full concert's, not
    the broadcast's.
  • Report… shows what happened, step by step: every MusicBrainz search
and release, why each was turned down, what the AI was asked, and for
each chapter what it saw in the frames and how sure it was. You can copy
    it.
  • A video in one piece is split at every clear gap in the audio, even when
you say how many songs it has. A show has more pieces than songs (an
opening film, interludes, a solo, a broadcaster's own segments), and
forcing that many chapters put the starts in the wrong places.
  • When the AI can't tell a song, its "Unknown", "Song" and "Song 5" are now
left blank for you to fill in, instead of counting as names. A real
    "Song 3" is kept.
  • A TV recorder's timestamp at the start of a file's name ("20260419 2100")
is left out of the MusicBrainz search.

Detect Chapters

  • With no tracklist, it no longer fills the table with chapters from the
audio as soon as it opens: choose Detect chapters from the audio when
you want that. Because the audio is measured only once a session,
reopening the dialog after a reset used to show the last proposal again,
as if it hadn't been reset.
  • Clear, beside the table, starts again: it removes the tracklist, the
method and any answer from Just Figure It Out or the AI.

Playing

  • Space plays and pauses while something is playing, wherever you
aren't typing: from the shelf, a video's page or the queue, not only on
    the video. Ctrl+Space still works.

Fixes

  • Clicking the seek bar sometimes kept the old chapter's name. It
happened after starting from a later chapter and seeking back before
it, or with a shuffled queue. The name now follows the playhead, and the
    queue moves back with it.
  • A pasted title keeps a closing dash or bracket.

Before you start

  • Beta, no warranty. See the README and LICENSE (GPL-3.0-or-later).
  • AI features cost money. They're off until you allow them in
Settings → Privacy and add an API key, and each one shows roughly what
it costs, but a large library adds up. Use a key with a daily spending
    limit.
  • Needs from your system: ffmpeg, mpv and (for Blu-ray folders)
libbluray, plus a keyring if you use the AI features. Video in the app
needs X11 or XWayland (the app arranges XWayland itself on a Wayland
    desktop).
